  1. At the end of the day County proved they were the better side, however whilst it is never nice to be beat, we can be proud of our achievements over the course of the season, we just fell a little short.

At the end of the day there would be 8 other championship teams who would have loved to have been in our position, so for those fans mocking us after today's result enjoy it whilst it lasts for we will come back stronger and ready to go again next season.

To be fair, what chance does he have at Hibs when they replace their manager every 9 months or so, no consistency, pushed out on loan each time. McGlynn is probably the best man to get him back to where it looked like he could be when he played for us.

Well no chance when your signed by Jack Ross then he is sacked and so is everybody after that.

Wish Dylan all the best at Falkirk.

no problem with him thinking he can make it at a bigger club, the lads just backed himself and unfortunately for him hasn't paid off.

I agree with you in that I had no problem with him wanting to make at Hibs, more a poor way it was all dealt with really with sell on clause and all that, as more often these clauses never work out especially for the Rovers anyway.

  4. According to the Falkirk Herald, Dylan Tait is going to terminate his contract at Hibs to sign permanently with Falkirk.

So much for him thinking he would make it there then, can remember at the time he was so desperate to sign for them that his parents even pushed for the Rovers to let him sign for them.

  5. On the subject of attendances what a difference this season, our average was 4,191 going by figures online and our total home attendance was just over 69,000 and the new owners deserve all the plaudits for the turn around in the club and massive plaudits too to the management and players for the fortunes on the pitch, hopefully we can get this over the finishing line.

Has the away to Ross County in the final dates been sorted?  Need to get that in my diary and book the day off.....
My record at Victoria Park is pretty good.
Played 1, Won 1, Goals For 5, Goals Against 0......

Yes last time I was there we pumped them 5-0 in the first cup game of a certain wee run........

    Final is on:

    1st leg Thursday 23rd May 8pm kick-off

    2nd leg Sunday 26th May kick-off tbc

  7. First half defo killed it, Airdrie were far too comfortable and were given time and room the longer the half went on and that was how the goals came about.

We lumped the ball in the air too often and when we had it on the ground, they closed us down giving us no room and we had no ideas how or what to do.

The fear now is Partick copies Airdrie's tactics they will kill us to but we will need to see how the players respond.

  8. Hats off to Airdrie, they know how to play us, they totally close us down 2, 3, 4 men around us whenever we have the ball and then they win it and play around and through us and we gave no answer to it and the gaffer just sits there.

He has no idea compared to McCabe.

Quite simply bloody shocking performance and no doubt the gaffer will come out with same pish post match.

Ok so don’t 🔫 me but in all reality are we good enough and for SPL?! 🤷🏽‍♂️ as much as I love this club we are championship at the best. Let’s enjoy football and winning games. Not going into games knowing we are going to get pumped - and Murray certainly isn’t a SPL manager

No we are not, to be honest this season we are having a way better season than anyone could have imagined to be totally honest, but for me what annoys me more than anything is that when the going gets tough like when the conditions git worse and Arbroath responded to playing with the wind in that second half and got that first goal, we didn't and neither did the management and this is not the first time this season we have failed to respond and that is what annoys me the most.

Wish Murray would show his displeasure with them as maybe they would try much more.

The game was just hoof it up the park and play head tennis all night. Just so frustrating.

  10. Simply put not good enough, no idea how to cope out there in the second half, Murray is way far too soft with them.

3 year contract....absolute joke, piss poor tactics, players with no idea.

A game of hoofball, simply shocking, total piss goalkeeping from Kev. Time for Murray to own it cos if he cannot sort this 💩 then he needs to go along with those letting him down.

    Let's face some uncomfortable realities:

-IM has not shown a willingness or ability to adapt his formation in response to the recent slump. Against Dundee United we lined up in a 4-4-2, and were effective, if less attacking than we had been earlier in the season. Since then, depending on who you listen to and how you squint, we have played 4-1-3-2 twice, 4-2-3-1 thrice, 4-1-4-1 once, 3-5-2 once and 3-1-4-2 once. In doing that, the only game other than the Pars win (4-2-3-1) where we felt we had decent midfield play/control would have been Livi with the 3-5-2. Surely that screams for considering a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 for a match or two to try and regain momentum/composure.

-The only difference in the line ups between the Pars win and the next weeks Airdrie loss was Smith for Hamilton in a 4-2-3-1...but the Pars side literally had their first choice starting 11 out with injuries. This suggests the Pars game can be discounted.

-The Ayr game was where we lost Sam, so that can be ignored, and the Arbroath game was a fluke result driven by an insane shot by a reserve keeper at striker. So we really have the last five games to look at.

-In four of the five we were overrun in midfield, the exception being the 3-5-2 against Livi. The others featured some form of 4-2-3-1/4-1-3-2/3-1-4-2, all of which showed us a lack of ability to move the ball in the preferred manner (passing through the midfield) during this period. Instead the players resorted to hoofing the ball forward, and IM did nothing to address that...no formation adjustments besides pouring on more attackers.

-Our most used starters in this streak are Dick, Brown and Vaughan, starting in all five games. Big Kev, Millen, Byrne, Mullen and Smith starting in four. Murray, Easton, Turner, Connolly and Hamilton starting in three. McNeil, Watson, Corr, O'Reilly and Rudden started in one each. We have 23 players, so Thomson, Masson, Hannah. McGill, Matthews and Stanton are the ones excluded from starts here...but really we have effectively rotated between 12 field players out of 20 for starting for 10 positions.

-Using this small a group has apparently channeled IM's thinking into NOT being willing to try more conventional formations like the 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. But, the only player that started in the 4-4-2 versus DU missing from IM's rotation is Sam Stanton...so it's not like using Brown (when we have another CB) or Matthews for Stanton in a  4-4-2 is inconceivable.

-If IM doesn't consider Masson capable of football at this level, then why wasn't he loaned out? What does it take for Corr, who has looked rather promising, to get a start over an obviously less than 100% Murray or an out of position Brown? Both these players experiences are going to be looked at by other players we approach this year and going forward. I don't see any way that Masson or Corr will sign up with the Rovers again, so with only Murray signed for next year, who do we bring in? It'll almost have to be an experienced CB because any young hotshot will fear being benched for a season or two, since IM seems to prefer playing Brown at CB over a natural young CB. Only a reasonably costly CB will be comfortable believing they will get to start...and where will that leave our bench/cover? Will we be sitting Masson's replacement on the bench like Hannah this year...not sure that's as appealing anymore.

-What does Matthews have to do? Is he healthy or not?

I hope that IM will take a deep breath and approach DU planning a 4-4-2. I also hope that Corr gets the start with Watson or Murray, because we need that speed back there. Perhaps Dick is worn down from the continual starts and the week break will cause him and Millen to recover their earlier form, otherwise McGill should be in play for the role on either side. DU are a big, physical team, so Rudden and Hamilton up top is a priority. In the middle, if (and only if) Stanton is 100%, I'd consider him starting over Byrne, but I probably prefer Mullen/Brown/Byrne/Smith across the middle, while keeping Vaughan, Connolly, Easton and Smith as available attacking substitutes for later in the game where their speed and nippiness would be facing off against tired defenders and midfielders.

Well said that man, 100 percent agree with you.

I have said for months that a solid 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 is required.

  12. Totally pathetic, no idea on the park and no idea from the dugout on how to change it.

Haven't played at all since Tannadice, heven help us in 2 weeks time when united come to us.

Gaffer needs to take the blame as well as the players, never expected us to be up there beside united but expected us to work hard and compete on the park but they aren't doing that and formations and tactics are rubbish.

  13. They have just totally crumbled since winning at Tannadice, they have let the plaudits got to their heads and now in a rut and Murray has no idea how to sort it.

One man doesn't sort it but we really miss Stanton.

Totally had enough of this 4-1-3-2 ect formations, get back to old fashioned 442 or 433, we are a soft touch and cannot defend as a team.

    Really sick of this 💩

Corrs the strange one he was bigged up all summer he was watched what 12/13 times? We signed him thinking maybe he can be starter… unlucky with injuries but since he’s came back he barely kicked a ball, how does he feel sitting on the bench seeing a midfielder and 2 full backs starting ahead of him in his natural position, in my opinion I don’t think Murray rates him if that’s the case send him out on loan and bring someone else in

Agree with you he was unlucky in the summer with injuries. He was really good last week then gets dropped for today just stupid, just like finishing the game last week with 2 at the back.

I would play him alongside a commanding cb, that hopefully we can bring in and hopefully we can maybe bring in cover at full back.
