Dont want to be in this League for Years

This is the league we are in though…. We are a long way off even competing with the top half teams at the moment.

The powers that run our football guarantee only turmoil. They are not to be trusted. I pray the pyramid can run for the good of all involved eventually. But with this lot running our game I fear the worst.

I understand your club sees itself as an SPFL club and don't want that door to slam shut but got now and maybe for a wee while longer you are not. So need to act accordingly.

In all honesty we are a lowland league club. I don’t see us returning to the top 4 leagues any time soon, if ever.

But it would be stupid to vote in favour of an additional league between us and league 2. That league will only make a poor pyramid system even worse.

    That makes no sense.

Not even sure what question to ask.

So after next season the b teams will still be in tier 5 bit everyone else will be moved down.

So Cowdenbeath hope to get into this new tier 5 or will promotion to tier 4 still be an option.

Way to be a team player.

From what I got tonight. There was a lot of uncertainty about how this new tier 5 would work. If implemented this year there was no guarantee lowland/highland clubs would have a way into it.

voting to keep the B teams gives lowland league clubs another year to work this out. From the way the board spoke tonight they definitely aren’t fans of the B sides.

I'm taking from the last couple of pages that your club voted to invite the Colts back in and that you're all pretty happy about it? I'm assuming the issue was raised at the meeting.

They mentioned they voted in favour of the B teams. From what the club described tonight it was either a case of vote against them and the spfl add the conference above lowland/highland now or keep B teams where they are for a season and delay this conference league.

I think they mentioned 12 lowland teams voted in favour of keeping them.

  5. Was at the meeting and it seemed pretty positive. The supporters trust makes sense and if successful you’d hope it would keep the club running at this level for the very least. For those asking on number probably around 40 including those on zoom.

I’m sceptical it will be enough for a push back to league 2 or whatever league will be above this one next season. But it’s probably needed to make sure we have a team that can be competitive in any way next season.

The next appointment of manager will be huge in getting people on board with this idea. going by the boards target we’ll need around 100 people to get involved.

Not as good very young side mind you much changed from early season as some of the older players are out on loan.

Yeah just had a look and it was a very young Hearts side. We definitely looked a bit better than my last time watching but not sure how much of that is down to the opposition.

  7. Not been in a while but decided to take this one. Mistake as it was freezing!

thought the team put a good shift in the first half! Worked hard to put the Hearts back line under pressure but didn’t have the quality to put away the chances we got from it. Think we missed two 1 on 1s without hitting the target.

was told the free kick to win it was a piece of quality but I missed it.

Was good to see the lads get the points But not sure how strong that Hearts side is so can’t really judge much from it myself.

also enjoyed finding out we now have “ultras” even if it’s just a rangers songbook with cowden added in 😂

The full draw is on their twitter now. I agree, you shouldn't have to sign up to an email to get the info, or like I did, trawl the club twitter accounts to find some info.

I’ll be honest I didn’t even know this cup was a thing until the club announced who they were playing!

The reality is if crowds keep dropping we won't have a club to go to eventually. Like anything use it or lose it!

You are spot on. I’ve not been for a while but crowds were definitely down from last season.

at this point I’d be surprised to see us last more than 2/3 years

I don’t think I agree with that. Considering it took ages to get anything like a settled team with basically lots of experimenting going on, we’re probably a mid table team based on recent form.  Today is the first real sore one we’ve had for ages.

From memory there are a few players signed up for next season that are the basis of a decent squad.

I wouldn’t say we’ll be relegated but if Ross stays I don’t see us moving much higher. We’ll sit in this 16th -12th position.

The reality is the longer we sit like that the more chance of people not going. I’ve not been since Bo’ness away and others will be in a similar position. The football is poor, the league is boring. So there’s not much pull for those who have left to go back.

I’m not even sure it is all about winning.  I’ve watched Cowden lose week after week for years but theres very little entertainment in any game Cowden have played this season and that is what is making me less inclined to go to matches.  A lot of the opposition are just as bad.

I think a big part of it is the league we are in. You put together a few wins and it doesn’t change anything. There’s very little to play for in this league unless you are at the top end of it.

A lot of the fans I have spoken to haven’t been back since we went down. The initial novelty of playing different teams has worn off and most people can see the lowland league is boring.

  12. I caught the first few of Bisland’s games and he looked nowhere near ready for this level.

I’m sure Osborne was part of the early signings when we were announcing players every night. Was probably the worst of the bunch.

glad to see the club moving them on quickly, hope they have players lined up to replace and improve on the squad.

It was definitely towards officials as he also used the refs name. Colin Jack spends most of the game shouting at officials. Doesnt help in my opinion. At one point Maurice got him to sit down instead of starting on the ref again.

I thought he was shouting to our player? I heard him shouting “Andy” when he said that

Monthecoo says "no parachute payments next season".........

I thought Cowdenbeath got £40K this season and £20K next season.

I always thought it was a little bit more than that but you are right. Whatever we get this season we get half for next year.

The Bo'ness number 10 was a class above and made such a difference. Would love him in our team.

We did look more comfortable at the start of the second half but fell away. So many going through the motions.

Ross was embarrassing tonight. Some of the things he said/done were awful tbh. Strange GIRUY shout also when we scored towards the support?

Hard watch! Things can only get better.

Thought we did ok just after half time and started to create a few opportunities. Bo’ness looked well above us for most of the game.

completely forgot about his GIRUY to the home fans. Hearing him in the dugout, you can’t imagine many players would want to play for him.

  16. Ross is embarrassing to watch. Taking Gilmartin off from what sounded like he didn’t like an 18 year old giving him a look.

The football is grim while Ross acts like a child in the dugout. Won’t be back until he’s gone.

  17. Headed down to the Crossgates friendly for my first game in a few months. Get it’s a friendly and we’ve made changes but we look poor!

Boy in the middle (think it’s Osborne) looks way off it! Crossgates seem the more dangerous and unlucky to be behind at half time.

Shocking attendance for a Saturday league game. So sad to see, can only assume others are dismayed like myself and not turned up.

Unfortunately it’s poor football in what is a boring league. There was an initial positive feeling and bit of excitement at the start of the season but that seems to be gone.

  19. Awful game. Thought we looked slightly more dangerous in the first half but didn’t take any of our chances. Fell out the game after half time and never looked like scoring.

First game I’ve seen for a few weeks and it all feels the same, even the games we win we don’t look like much of a threat.

    He isn't supporting Bo'ness.

    Fife's finest.

Finally made an account on here as I knew folk would blame either side for him. If it’s the guy who was shouting abuse on the terracing he was in the high street with an east fife top on before the game.

He’s a dick but doesn’t belong to either set of fans
