  1. Is it John McVeigh next to Norrie Anderson and Brian McKeown next to him on the end. May be Tom Black next to Lapsley.
  2. But he is our only International and he won't want to give that up. I only mean for the first few friendlies so he can play beside the new defenders and get a feel for strengths and weaknesses. It will also be easier on the pitch to help them get used to our passing it about at the back. Nice to have some options to try out.
  3. I'd be tempted to play ATS in the centre of a back 5 to use his experience and height to keep the new defence organized for the first few games in the cup / friendlies. I'd also like to see Watson back at full back because he actually gives us more goals and assists than Hancock. Watson Wilson ATS Hancock Bruce
  4. I'm hoping Fordyce left because Rhys has 2 shit hot central defenders coming in on loan and told him he would be third choice centre half.
  5. Looking to see if we would get training compensation for Josh Edwards and I came across this Training Compensation and the Law – Why Dundee United are Paying Up to Rangers for Charlie Telfer (unlockthelaw.co.uk)
  6. It is a worry that Dycey leaving just as other contracts are being negotiated may influence some of our better players to jump ship. If they were all staying to go again then it makes sense to stay. If the better players are leaving for better offers the loyalty card is difficult to play.
  7. Can we please just keep McCabe for as long as possible and not wish him away with discussions of a replacement? Cautionary tale: Coyle moved from Burnley to Bolton and has gone down hill ever since. If your face fits.....How many jobs since has he lasted a season?
  8. I think the fact he has a young family and is obviously enjoying his set up at Airdrie should not be overlooked. With a move to a high pressure environment where there is no guarantee that he will get the support he gets with us comes risk. I also think he will have a fair bit of loyalty to the players and owner. Next season in the championship he brings in some more of his own signings and it becomes his team. Go up as champions and bring in more of his own good players to challenge for top 6 in the premier. Goes on to build a dynasty while his young family grow up. This is football and everything is possible. If Motherwell can do it so can we.
  9. With all the loan players leaving at the end of the season only Megwa is a regular starter and with Ballantyne back to right back we will not be weakened if we can hold on to the players. Add a quality centre half and a prolific striker by paying a good wage and we go again. I'd like to see McGill back next season playing beside a quality finisher. Any of the Dundee United team that would do the job as they rebuild for the higher league?
  10. What are the thoughts on trying to get Paton if Queens Park get relegated?
  11. Maybe the glue is Frizz and we missed his influence on the park more than we think. Second half was men against boys but is it all part of Rhys masterplan to suck Thistle into a sense of false security before the important games? Graham gave us a masterclass in finishing and composure in the box.
  12. Would Anton Dowds return to Thistle after Ayr's season comes to an end and be allowed to play in the playoffs? If so we may have a problem.
