The thing about thinking a team with 11 should be able to beat a team with 9 in all but the most extreme of gulfs in class is that the league position of the team I support is totally irrelevant

Unless they are playing a team that has the best defensive record in the league no? A team that's on the club record run of unbeaten games maybe?

Na, being unable to beat 9 men is certainly, in almost all circumstances, a reflection on the team with 11.

I like to think it's more of a reflection of a team that refuses to get beat in all circumstances. Whether they are 3 down at airdrie or 2 down at Falkirk. Resilient.

Well if we need any indication of how bad Airdrieonians are then that result for them shows it, two men up and they still couldn’t win. Let’s not overestimate what we’re playing in the play-offs.

Probably more of an indication as to how good the champions are. 1 defeat all season and 9 men against 3rd best in the league for 20 minutes. Absolutely rinsed this league.

It is a combination of a number of things in my view. Stubborn, one dimensional tactics in certain games, an inability to cope with physicality and not playing our most natural goal scorer. I also think more effort should have been made to offload some of the dead wood in the summer rather than waiting till January.

We have a better squad imo than Dunfermline so to be 11 points behind them in March is pretty poor.

Better squad than dunfermline 🤣. I'd accept that if you were 11 points clear.

3700 real fans at the Falkirk stadium last night then. Without a national team game getting into the road of travel etc. Was impossible to attend both the Scotland game and the pars game today. I know alot of pars fans at hampden today.

"Alot of pars fans at hampden today" is maybe a bit vague. 15 thousand of them.

Real fans go to games in person rather than click & connect 😂

To those on here saying that it is unacceptable to be so far behind Dunfermline perhaps you should take on board the following.

Dunfermline started this season with a very strong squad that had massively underperformed under two clueless managers who managed to relegate a team that had been one of the favourites for promotion.

Now that they have a competent manager it’s hardly a shock that they are going to win the title even if the style of football would make your eyes bleed.

In contrast McGlynn came to a club at its lowest ebb since the late 70’s.

A huge rebuild was required both on and off the pitch and only an idiot or someone with an agenda could possibly argue that the club is not now in a much stronger place.

We are a long way still from being where we need to be but I genuinely think that we will achieve promotion through the playoffs.

On a completely different point just watched the Scotland game, that new strip is a thing of beauty and would make a perfect Bairns kit.

Hasn't made my eyes bleed. Not been overly stressful to watch a winning team. Next.

Where to start?  I genuinely thought Falkirk were title contenders. All the noise coming from over the bridge.. gonna catch you blah blah blah. Aw fart and nae jobbie. Classic mcpake. Same as away game at Falkirk he kept it tight first half but this time 2nd half we battered them. Mcpake said airdrie is the best team we've played? Who could argue? Falkirk have had 2 shots on target against us in 3 hours of football.

On his day matty Todd is the best player in this league. What an engine and he's lived the dream as a pars fan getting the 2nd goal.

    Get it up ye.

And as mcpake said. We won the corner count aswell 🤣

Sorry I forgot to mention. In recent weeks you almost had us believe that kai Kennedy had turned a corner since his spell at the pars and is a decent footballer. Deary me, same as he was at eep. Can do it against Peterhead but when goin gets tough he's useless.

  10. A little bit dissapointed bit I'm going to guess this isn't to do with the club and maybe a police Scotland decision. The club shop doesn't even open until midday and I think we would have shifted atleast half of that north east stand. Was really thinking we were going to hit 10k this morning they way it was going but now I think we're looking at 9500-9700 depending how Falkirk get on with the remainder of their tickets. A cracking crowd regardless but could have been better.

Any reason it’s not just being fully opened up?

No idea to be honest. I know the boy at the club shop so that's the only reason why I know they are doing it that way. Over 9000 sold now. I suppose if you shift the rest of the 3 middle sections they side sections will get opened up. Only reason I can think is if we need to open north east stand for home fans then they are just keeping fans as far apart as possible. They sections will be the last to go on sale.

Have they just been releasing the center or have the sides sold out? I don't think they'll sell the first two rows.

The two side sections bottom tiers haven't been released for sale yet. Neither has bottom two rows of the centre sections. Club will drip feed them depending on sales. I'd assume if centre sections fill up then the side sections will be released for sale too.

They’re available for away fans for the other fixtures released so far,  including the Kelty game which has sold out hospitality.

I attended hospitality recently for the montrose home game which we won 2-0 and that was where we were directed to when we went upstairs so only going by that. Montrose supporters were still sitting in the end 2 sections beside us.

Suppose it maybe depends on the fixture. Falkirk fans were never going to be in that part of the stadium anyway so wouldn't be a problem putting g hospitality there for this fixture.

There’s not that much apart from the last section and the first few rows in the west wing to be opened up.   Someone either tonight or tomorrow morning is likely going to have to make a big call over the NE

That part of the main stand where they haven't released tickets for the first few rows won't be released. They are always reserved for hospitality. That's where they will go when they come upstairs from their pre match meal.
