Would it be unsporting to throw in a cheeky bid for Milne and McMillan from Thistle ?

Who’s available in that category? McMullan?
McMullan would do but maybe a bit high end for us this season . Maybe more Cammy Smith and Michael O'halloran !

Of course there's also the positive financial implications of keeping Thistle in our league for next season coupled with the good atmospheres so all good for me.
That result will gross us about £50 k next season . Another quality player on a one year deal .

From what I was told pre contact signings/targets I wouldn’t get your hopes up on named/decent players.
This is my fear to be honest , I understand that we won't be burning money with Bangala, JML , Ashford, Reading etc , rather just running down their contracts for a clear out in 2024 .That being the case it'll be a consolidation type season. It has to be more than five outfield signings if its to be more than consolidation.

Well least you'll be better craic than your city neighbours who did have a lot of killie type arrogance .

I'd take Liam Smith back in a minute for RB but other than Strapp I'm struggling to think of any really solid and consistent LB's at this level but I suppose that's exactly WHY they're at this level....
There Is also Lawson and Longridge who should fall inside any consolidation budget we may have .

I’d heard we made a good attempt at getting him back in January but for whatever reason it didn’t happen and we ended up with McAlear. He won’t get the money he’s on at Kilmarnock anywhere else so you can see why he’d be happy taking it for another year and then seeing what his options are
I heard the pot lickers wanted a fee and at that point we were out . Maybe our Mcinroy option is at an end .

This season he has been considerably worse! Rarely getting forward or puting a cross in whilst being almost invisible defensively, either losing his man, being too easy beat or being incapable of stopping a cross. For a time, a few of us felt he wasn't getting enough protection from the left winger but whoever we put in there Reading has been the same
He also had a big hand in the back post fiasco v killie at Somerset where we were 0-3 down in 20 mins .
Talking about the pot lickers , their free's list is up , a few decent operators in there but none in there who fit our profile maybe .

1972-73 We won 5-0 at Dam Park with a crowd of over 3,000 v Clydebank ( google is a great thing ) Somerset was being re turfed , was there but had to check score again on google
Kind of remember beat St Mirren 2-0 I think and the place being packed and with everyone wearing black and white scarfs and no segregation as such . Educational.

I believe some friendlies have been arranged but will all be away from home as the pitch gets ripped up next week and not back in action until mid/late July , hopefully the teams we are playing don’t make them closed door games
So is thee a possibility that our home League Cup games will be played else where ? I remember having to play St Mirren and Clydebank at the Dam Park and Rangers at Rugby Park for a very similar reason back in the day .

He absolutely can’t be our main striker next season but would offer more than ashford and mckenzie. Think he’d work better beside a target man or even someone like dipo though
Pretty much agree , Ryan is too frail to lead the line but perhaps foil for a big number 9,. This would mean two up top which would also herald a need for a much stronger midfield and a large dollop of game control . Needs more than four I think...

Brad Spencer moving on from Raith, still maintain he can be our Mark Kerr style player that we have badly missed having
Now he would do , if Bullen really sees Ben as a no 8 .

I don't think Stanger is coming in as cover . He can play right across the back four and may well be our starting left back unless needed else where . The rest will consist of one forward , maybe big Manni from Halifax or and perhaps Andy Ryan , maybe nolonger chased by Linfield , if its two. That would leave a slot for wide left and central midfield... They need to be marquee level and tried and tested if we are talking about top four ...

Couple of cracking signings by Rovers. I'd say Hamilton is a player that would have been welcome at every club in the championship
Mullin is also a cracking signing for Rovers , we played him on the right side with Logan Chalmers on the left . Worked a treat . Superb set price delivery and a great crosser of the ball . One of the fitest guys at Ayr last season , always topped the stats list . He'll do fine at Rovers ..

Mullin will be looking for one last big contract and pay day so I would say our chances are less 30/60 chance of keeping him
Like Signings this summer it depends wither we are holding or going for it . I get the feeling the big push will come after the North Bank is completed . So yes perhaps we won't blow big numbers on a 31 year old . We might however go large on a 27/28 year old on a two or three year deal , so he is around when we give it a real go .
For the record I reckon Dundee United will do a Dundee and take the title with a quick sprint after Christmas, Thistle or County will be there . So the rest will be playing for top four . Rovers already have put their hand up . Well need to wait and see what Queens , Morton and Inverness are going to do .

On the Mullin debate it should be remembered that he was our second top scorer with nine goals I think and barring his injury he would have got well into double figures .

Hamilton may just be the missing link for last seasons Rovers . Rovers could play but they lacked a quality no 9 . Now that's sorted they should be a top four threat . What a league this is going to be ....

Livingston freeing so interesting players .

Would far rather have Luke McCowan or Logan Chalmers if we could afford them.
Why not both ?

So we're linked with the following : Robbie Mutch , George Stanger , Luke McCowan and Andy Ryan . No noubt other names will be mentioned in the next few weeks . It will be interesting to see who we get . The fact that we banked over £700k in prize money ,whatever we made on the gate etc in those cup ties and ofcourse the Dipo money should he go will put us in as strong a position in the market as we have ever been over the last few years . I'd expect a marquee signing or two in there . Perhaps Dundee United will have a clear out, if so Logan Chalmers would be a priority .

In a stand that holds 1800? Maybe 2000 at a push but had several empty seats at both ends? If you say so.
It was yours stadium announcer last week that made the 2,100 away fans call .

The Goat is a good shout but you also have The Meridian up near the station which is decent .

How did the cup runs go ?
Well we banked £125k in prize money . That equates to brining one serious championship player on a two year deal . Better than it might have been .....

If we can him back to the form he was on when last with us then it would be worth it . Think Bullen could get the arm round him etc .. it would mean a 442 which would mean a much stronger midfield, maybe only one out and out winger .. At no 10 Smith could link up play the way Moff used to . Still need a decent no9 in complete the set though ....
