Left him out because I think him, Murdoch, and O'Boy will (and should) be out on loan (assuming we manage to bring in another two).

I would personally disagree with King going out on loan. He's had a full season out on loan to gain that matchday experience, and fighting relegation with Clyde will have hopefully been really beneficial to the mental side of his game, but for me he should remain as an option in the squad. Too many times last season we had a player or 2 out injured and we struggled for options, and King has been about the squad a couple of years now, time to show he belongs to be here.

    As things stand...

    -----------Mullen------------

    Ballantyne-Baird-Boyes-Delaney

    ------Wilson-----Blues--------

    Moffat------Lyall-----Reynolds

    -----------Davies------------

Subs: Woods, Corr, Broadfoot, Gillespie, Bearne, Shaw, Garrity

You could argue about Blues/Gillespie or which side the wingers will play, but must be pretty close.

If we can add e.g. Grimshaw and another striker on loan, that starts to look pretty good... and much better balanced than last season.

Add Alex King to that bench as well, I'm sure he's beck in training now

  3. Heading through to Bayview on Saturday, think it'll be for the first time since about 05. Don't think I've ever been to a game there that hasn't had a biting wind coming in off the Forth.

Looking forward to getting my first in-person glimpse of our new squad.

Joma are the pits to be fair

This will be Morton's third season with Joma, and our kits have been fine really. First season's home kit wasn't my favourite but the 2 since have been excellent IMO. Bought some training kit too and been really impressed.

And THAT'S the way you position the badges!

Who does Partick's social media stuff? The pictures they put up of new signings and stuff are always really unclear, or is that just to me?

Aye seen a guy saying he's refusing to renew his season ticket because of it, ridiculous.

We've no idea what he was offered to help us out in Dec and no idea how big the reduction was. There's also no guarantee if we offered the same money he would have signed anyway, always sensed he was looking to move away over the last year or two.

He's away, move on. Every confidence Dougie will find an able replacement. Robson from QP would be a decent oprtion.

The guy refusing to buy a season ticket should focus on the 6 good signings we've made/about to make over the last week or so on top of Reynolds and Davies.

We are only a couple of signings away from having a very competitive team.

Had a right good laugh at that when I read it this morning. A face I recognised from games for a number of years, a grown ass man considerably older than I am, withholding season ticket money because the left back didn't get a pay rise.

Strapp will undoubtedly be missed, as he was last season until he returned, but have a word with yourself.

  7. As an aside, are the issues with the trains all linked to the Bavarian flooding of late? I'm not flying out till Sunday and have trains booked from Frankfurt airport to Dusseldorf, and those trains appear to be running, if not delayed, from a cursory glance on the DB website.

Forgive if already been covered, but does anyone know if the fan pass 36 hour free travel is completely unlimited on locals trains?

I have tickets for Turkey v Georgia, which is a 6pm kickoff with no afternoon games that day. I'm staying in Düsseldorf. Hypothetically, if I want to go to Cologne in the morning and then back to Düsseldorf for lunch before heading to Dortmund, an I covered for the whole lot as it's all within the VRS/VRR area and within the time frame?

The reason I ask is because I've been to ice hockey games in Germany before where your ticket covers you for free travel, but only to and from the game, not for random trips earlier or later in day. Cheers

My reading suggests that it's across the entire VRS/VRR area from 5am on matchday until 5pm the following day.

Anyone bought an ICE train ticket recently? Went to sort my Cologne to Stuttgart travel for a game we're catching on the Sunday and the €30 option has disappeared. Were they limited availability?

That will likely have been an advanced fare which are limited as you say. Don't think full price is anything too outrageous mind you.
