  1. Really hope either this or another deal for a striker gets done. Thats the only gap I can see in the squad still which if filled would round off what has been a decent transfer window overall.
  2. Noticeably McGinlay has been a regular on the bench this year. I’m hopeful given the supposed clamour from English clubs trying to sign him that he’s able to get some first team minutes this year. Given he’s only just made it to the B team from the u18s I think that may just be 10-15mins from the bench but any minutes would be good for him.
  3. With any joy the article will force the club to at least acknowledge the problem.
  4. Draw was probably a fair result tonight. Slightly disappointed we couldn’t keep a clean sheet though. Good to see another centre back brought in. If he’s able to perform at similar levels to Dane Murray then we’re pretty set now defensively. Still apparent that we lack numbers & quality in the forward areas so i’m still looking for a striker and a winger/attacking mid to be brought in. We don’t really have enough depth up there to impact the game from the bench.
  5. Yes but they have also brought in Kuharevich, Cadden, Hoillett and Bowie in the last week, which I think will push him down the pecking order slightly.
  6. I dare say the ‘transfer market’ for QP is now essentially closed so unless there are any surprises it’ll be from the loan market we’ll see any more additions. Adding Dane Murray i reckon will get us through the next game but we’re still short in the midfield and forward areas. Molotnikov from Hibs would still be a good move and I wonder if Alex Lowry from Rangers might step down a level for game time. Another from Rangers might be Bailey Rice. Don’t see him getting first team action and don’t think their B team play in ‘senior’ football anymore so a championship club loan for him makes sense. (He’s only 17 though so might not be what Davidson is after). Other than the obvious fact i’ve played too much Football manager in my days being this ambitious but if QP can bring those guys in plus a striker from somewhere I think that’d be enough of a squad to get through at least til January.
  7. Talking of stadiums…has anyone swung by Lesser recently to check if any groundwork has been started for these temporary stands going up?
  8. The other option I thought of for the attacking mid position is the lad Molotnikov from Hibs. He caused QP all sorts of trouble in the cup game. He’s likely to be someone Hibs will want to go out and get games so would love it to be at QP.
  9. Would like to see Mauchin start the next few games (whilst kerr is filling in at the back). Thought the game passed Turner by last night which happens from time to time so wouldn’t be against bringing in another player for the midfield until Savoury is ready. Rudden can’t be the only option up front either so its imperative that another striker is found. Off the top of my head i’d like to see the lad Turley brought in on loan from Celtic as he would fit the Turner position, also Dane Murray too as another centre back option wouldn’t hurt. One thing that does give me some hope is that McGinlay was on the bench last night. On another night he may have got some gametime. He could prove to be the next valuable youth product in the team.
  10. Also see Glenn Middleton is supposedly able to leave Dundee Utd. I reckon he’d be a good addition to the team. Has some decent experience and ability. Wouldn’t mind it if he joined for a year with an optional extension.
  11. Tizzard does not fill me with anywhere near the amount of confidence he should. I’m aware he’s still relatively young but I just don’t see a defender in there. Reid is also very raw but he does provide me with a little more confidence in his ability. Interestingly I thought Carrick did not too badly when he came on against Celtic so giving him some game time over the next two ties would be useful to let him experience some mens football. If the rumour of Wilson is true then i think we’ll come to miss him but need to hope that the DoF, Head of recruitment & Callum Davidson are ready to pull the trigger on another couple of signings. One thing thats notable is QP don’t pay fees for players. Pretty much all the additions made have been guys who have mutually terminated with their clubs to join us or were already free agents. Surely there must be a couple of quid around to actually make a purchase from time to time.
  12. Since that article came out last night it has surprised me (probably shouldn’t) that the club haven’t released a statement in relation to it. What this identifies for me is the urgent requirement for the club SLO positions to be filled as soon as possible. This would be a prime example of an occasion where supporters can contact the SLO and they can provide a response or at the very least pass on the supporters frustrations to prompt a response from the club directly.
  13. The article states that QP are drawing up their own contingency plans for playing at Lesser til the new year. If (and its a big if) that meant temporary stands allowing for increased capacity would those in this forum be content? Appreciate that the article is likely mostly paper talk, but taking it at face value I do wonder what such contingency looked like.
  14. I can’t imagine ‘businessman’ Willie Haughey is just rolling over to please Rangers without QP gaining in some sort of fashion. Whether its funds for temporary stands at lesser which have been supposedly mooted in Rangers forums in recent weeks or favourable terms for some loon signings this season I can’t see it being a one sided affair where QP don’t gain in the slightest. I don’t know WH enough to defend him, but he’s far from stupid or weak so I’d imagine there must be some sort of beneficial side.
