  1. I felt the ref gave Hibs a wee helping hand yesterday . A few moments pretty much highlight this . In one instance in the first half , Olusanya turns his man has is shirt pulled goes to byline and a foul is given against him when the Hibs player should have been booked . Second half , Saints break , Manderon gets the ball in the centre circle and Hibs last defender goes through him with a tackle . Referee ignores , when it should have been a booking. McMenamin booked for first foul in opponents half within a minute of being on . Small robs defender trying to usher ball out and is just about to cross and ref sees imaginary foul . Other times Hibs players just fell and got free kicks which allowed Hibs to have sustained pressure. All these wee decisions helped Hibs get a grip on the game . That said a few Saints players had off days and Baccus made a difference when he came on . Hopefully we get a wee break from the ref on Saturday.
  2. Hope club can work out a way to keep us dry and if possible open up other sections that would otherwise be empty .
  3. He,s becoming quite famous over the last 24 hours . Surprised he,s not been named yet . He,s going to have fun explaining his behaviour when he clocks into work .
  4. It took three minutes and 25 seconds to make that var decision. If they couldn't decide it was offside in a minute the goal should have stood.
  5. Last season when we played Hearts we had Main and Grieve up front with very little back up or cover . This season we can make changes that gives us a fresh front three for the last 20 minutes . Great option to have . We will run Hearts ragged .
  6. Might make sense to park at a train station between Glasgow and Edinburgh and maybe get a couple of pre match pints , which will be out your system by the time you get into your car 4 hours later . I'm doing something similar.
  7. Can see Dunne and Baccus in the starting line up .
  8. I see St Mirren as a team that play football the proper . We get very little from referees and our players are often booked for their first foul . Only reason why Motherwell put us under pressure is because the referee constantly gave free kicks against us every time a Motherwell player slipped . If we have a fair and neutral referee on Saturday Hearts will struggle to beat St Mirren .
  9. Me too . Asked him about it when I met him in hospitality at Ibrox . At the interview he said Saints had a few good players and with the right signings he would have taken us to Europe . Which he did two seasons later with Airdrie . I also wondered what sort of careers Sanderson and Black woukd have had a Love Street as they would have been signed instead of Charnley and Elliott .
  10. Great result for St Mirren . Motherwell were unlucky . Though I feel the fact that four St Mirren players were on international duty through the week and played in Mexico , Spain , Cyprus , Kzackstan , Slovakia which I think tired them as the game went on
  11. Did Dale Tilson not play for you about ten years ago .
  12. How are Motherwell doing in tbe league Cup . Best barometer of how good managers are will be after all the teams have played 11 games .
  13. Which is why I don't think Hibs would go for Robbo . They have already paid off a manager and two assistants. I think they would have to pay Gray off and pay Saints compo for OCarroll and Robbo if that were to happen. That's another significant amount of money , which could be a decent transfer budget if say someone like Neil Lennon was appointed. That's what I'm telling myself .
  14. For me Flynn would be a good assistant manager if Dairmid OCarroll was promoted to manager . Would also make every effort to keep Martin Foyle involved .
  15. Think the old firm struggle because they are not used to playing with refs that are neutral .
  16. Just seen the tackle on Ayunga in Paisley by a Motherwell defender , actually very similar to Dunnes , where the tackle is hard and from the side . St Mirren didn't make a big deal out of it , though Ayunga was booked , when there should have been a penalty and a booking the other way .
  17. Don't think he played for the first team , but I think he was on our books . First I heard of him was when he scored the winner against us in the Drysburgh Cup final in 1980 .
  18. I hope we strengthen , maybe another 3 or 4 in also hope we can keep Strain and Baccus until tbe January window . Very pleased with our start to the season .
