Deserve sweet fa they have never won the wosfl, like saying largs deserve the playoffs because they went on a good run. Birthday card pish
Did a seagull eat your ice cream on the Largs seafront? It's happened to me, btw.

Kirkintilloch 0, Largs 3. It is remarkable to see Largs finish fifth. I do recall an article in the local paper worrying if we'd be in a relegation battle in August.
If Beith continue to have Diver next season they will be hard to dislodge from the top of the table.

That's an enormous result for Cambuslang Rangers. If Maybole lose to Johnstone Burgh on Tuesday, they then face Drumchapel United away on Friday which could be Drum's trophy presentation night. At the same time Cambuslang are at home to Petershill who haven't played for a couple of weeks. If Maybole don't pick up anything from those two games, and Cambuslang beat Peasy, then Cambuslang's fate comes down to Maybole's last game - away to Rutherglen Glencairn.
Owen McGinty seems to score a fair few for Cambuslang. Good to see, despite him being a bit of a pain to play against.

A great turnout at Barrfields tonight. Ciaran Diver is exceptional for Beith - the strongest all round side in the West.

2-2 at Arthurlie versus Talbot. Picked a good time to wrap up the language learning.

Arthurlie 1, Talbot 1. And I miss both goals as on Duolingo…

Another good win for us today, particularly given the limited options available to the manager.
I have time for every club at this level trying to make the best of what they have but I have to say, it is a disgrace that MTC Park is considered an acceptable venue to charge £8 to watch a game at. No toilets, no food and the safe capacity must be tiny(not helped by dedicating half of the touchline to the tiny volume of home fans). Overtakes New Tinto as the worst venue in the league and it's not even close.
When we at Gartcairn twice there was two porta-toilets and a food van. Was the latter missing today?

In my opinion Pollok is one of the elite clubs because of their successful history (sadly not in recent times), their stadium, large average crowd, well known outside our level of the sport and that, including assets, is a multi million pound business.
Unfortunately over many years we have seen disproportionate amounts of money (for whatever reason) come into clubs at our level of football, usually unsustainable & for a limited period only, but never the less it causes a financial ripple effect across almost all the other clubs (wages & fees).
We are now at the stage where our competition has a team near the top of the league that don't have a ground and have almost no support but are very close to winning the league...How do the elite clubs compete with these short term football/business challenges. Clubs like Pollok need to develop a business model to remain competitive in this ever evolving business environment.
My concern is that the people running Pollok and those still hanging around in the darkened corners advising (some with questionable agendas) and or exerting influence are the very individuals who are 100% responsible for both the historic & current fiscal situation that Pollok find themselves in. To be clear the current execs don't have the professional background or experience to run a business. Why are these individuals allowed to continue running the business of Pollok...it seems to me that it's a poorly experienced clique propped up by some members who don't want to upset their friends and or family members who are in charge, despite the fact that those in charge have completely failed (including possible investigations into potential fraud). I appreciate that there is a significant degree of apathy among members however if changes aren't made in the very near future Pollok is going to end up with an average team and no decent ground or at best playing "cage football"
The executives should do the right thing, be honest about their repeated failings and step down, and those supporting them should take a good look at the execs and ask yourself would you let them run a million pound business you owned...put aside your personal relationships with them and think what is best for Pollok in the short, medium and long term.
It looks like we have a good management team (potentially a great management team) who are slowly building a great squad and team but all that blood sweat and tears could be a waste of time and money if the business of Pollok doesn't completely reset itself. There can be no doubt the implications of keeping the current execs will be detrimental to the future of Pollok...why...they have had many years of failure which is only now coming to light.
Our business is not only dysfunctional but is now also toxic.
Gents put your egos aside break up the cliques and do what's best for Pollok.
More to follow.......Maybe it’s me but I just can’t trust any user who doesn’t use the default font on Pie and Bovril.

MWhich EoS or SoS team are ever likely to be banging their heads endlessly against a glass ceiling from this stage onwards? I'm not seeing any at all…

To be fair, that Facebook page is a binfire. I had a former player say “who wants to watch Bellshill versus Maybole?”. And those wanting to bring the wee Ayrshire league, and 22 games a season, back. Cute.
Classic social media nonsense.

To be blunt, there was no good reason to continue the way things were in 2020. Or 2017, or even earlier, as it stood in the juniors.
The challenge for anyone arguing otherwise, or wanting to go back to those days, is disproving the above. In a way that avoids lazy rehashes of "long journeys" or "low crowds".
With the pyramid... it took almost ten years in England for it to solidify with automatic promotion and relegation in the 1980s. And into the 2000s before it became yet more fluid. It will take time in Scotland, too.

Shotts is a good day out. Let's see them get promoted.

Are games ever rescheduled or kickoff earlier by the police at out level. I'm thinking of Benburb being made to kick off early or late if there was a Old Firm game?
We were told we couldn't play a regional cup match due to a later round Junior Cup match being a few miles away. This was a few years ago now but in the Pie and Bovril era.
Needless to say, it didn't help our backlog. No games for weeks.

We in the SOS are laughing too. Teams might indeed be shite, but at least we can provide a licensed champion.
Now awaits South 'shouldn't be at Tier 6', comments (not from you Shanner, don't recall you ever stooping to that level my friend).
Last season?
(Not that it isn't a fair point. But context is key.)
