Was in the Greenock Telegraph with Imrie saying he’d made him a very good offer on a 2 year deal but he’d choose Partick. Don’t think it’s official to be fair so could be wide of the mark.

I read that one as well. Pretty sure that's where he's headed, don't think we have the clout to steal the deal,(prove me wrong Mr Smith/Mathie). Morton losing most of their bigger names now, they are going to be in for everyone in the market.

As a side note I see Peter Murphy is the new Queen of the South Manager and Robbie Crawford signed a 2 year deal at Partick

Has he actually signed though? Seen plenty about him being wanted by Partick, or is it one of those announcements to be made after they are kicked out of the playoffs?

Scott Burns reporting Muirhead to Livi if that's the case I can't see Martindale wanting Dowdes as well.

Need a pinch of salt with all these reporters. Says Livi want Muirhead. That's as far as it goes just now. Livi may well hand pick the strongest from this league to weaken the competition IF they have the funds to do so. If we don't sign Dowds I think its because we are getting someone better in.

Oh undoubtedly a great attacking player and would be a real blow to Ayr losing out on keeping him, but to get in this team you need to work at the other end too.

Perhaps Murray can get that out of him.

Brown has tried to add that to his game but he throws a huff every time he loses the ball. I don't think he is on Ayr's shopping list, we need more consistency. Still an exciting player on his day though.

The amount of times I have shouted for him to get the team lifted and he says and does nothing ..... McAllister was the only one that even attempted to gee up the team ...

McAllister for captain? That's a thought, would struggle to keep the armband on his arm due to the amount of elbow tackles he does.

With Sanders we do need to rember he had not played a lot of football this season maybe just took him a bit of time to get back up to speed, if you'd asked me after the Raith game if I wanted him to stay it would have been a no but now I'd be quite happy to see him to sign permanently

He's definitely looking more assured now over the last few weeks after his bombscare start.  If we have Sanders ,McGinty,  Musonda and Stanger all on their game, it is a solid defence, just need some pace at the sides and a commanding keeper and not many will get past us.

I hope this is it, but if you go back every generation of fans on here, you hear the same thing muttered by every one... Next season will be different.... we all await to be made to look stupid and the club comes up with the goods.

Very true. Things seem to be heading the right way for once in a long time, especially off the field,  which as a business, needs to be right before we can progress. We just need to see this season out and have a good summer window(better than last year's shambles), which surely we have learned our lessons from. New season, new stand open, new players in, better atmosphere and some realistic ambition for once, are the things I am looking forward to.

Really surprised how low key the build up to this has been. We’ve clearly still got work to do to be safe depending on other results.  I’d like to think Dunfermline will avoid defeat today to Inverness which might settle things, but I wouldn’t bet my mortgage on it.  Can’t help feeling everything has been a bit low key since Bullen left - makes you wonder if Mathie has quiet quit on us as the social media/club communication has been pretty minimal, with Mathie himself suddenly becoming the invisible man - can’t remember any comment at all from him during the managment transition and now he mostly posts about stuff not related to the first team.

It could just be Scott Brown wants it this way, it's his team now. I'm sure the media output will improve next season.

The warcry social media content this week about getting as many supporters as possible up to firhill to help us get over the line for our biggest game of the season has been unbelievable, oh wait...

Remember what happened when we took 2000 to firhill?

Just keep it to 300-400 usual suspects away, and we will be fine.

Ayr United become only the second team this century to lose all four league games in a season to Dundee Utd.  A month after Arbroath became the first.

Your welcome.  3 of those games only by a single goal(of which, 2 games our keeper handed to you), I expected more from you.

Did anyone else notice McAllister having a couple of late digs on Middleton in the first half when the ball went out for a goal kick?  It was almost as if he was trying to lay a marker on the winger and intimidate him a bit.  Not long after that Middleton seemed to have a word with the ref (when they had a corner).

I didn't see the red card incident but I'm guessing McAllister has not been entirely innocent.

Thought we were really good value for a point until the sending off and even after it we still gave a decent account.

I noticed mcallister as well, was never in any doubt he would be off at some point, he never learns.

No way, he was deservedly sent off.

I couldn't see the sending off incident but did see mcallister leaving in plenty of afters with Middleton all the first half, including a slap and a shove towards the advertising boards off the pitch. It was only a matter of time. That's 2 games against them thrown away by Albinson and another by Mcallister, 3 games we should have got something from.

I would like to think the Ayr players would have the decency to offer up a guard of honour for the Utd team as they enter the pitch. A decent and hearty applause from the visiting fans at the same time please.

Fair dos,  I'll happily sing There's only one United, only one United, only one united and its Ayr.

He signed a two year extension last summer so is under contract until 2025.

As for the talk about Chalmers I would definitely try to get him permanently this summer but he's definitely not worth breaking the bank for. If his demands are too much just move on.

My bad. I just looked up transfermarkt.co.uk and it has him ending this season. Don't believe everything you read on the internet they say.

I don't think Chalmers will be here next season, nor McGinty.

Wise of them to announce McAllister's extension before the ST's were announced though, sure a few folk were on the fence till they heard that.

Never thought about McGinty,  his contract is up at the end of May.  Need to show some aggression in the transfer market early on this year to be taken seriously.
