More good stuff. You should take over as head of the SFA refereeing department (or whatever it's called).

What the SFA elite boys club? 😂

Saw a prime example of what people contend with in terms of consistency in the first game of the season. Sock clash at killie vs rangers. That weekend there wouldve been officials being watched who have had to insist a team change their socks to not clash and are fighting a losing battle before they blow the first whistle. I got pulled for a black vs maroon sock clash in the WoS in my last season 😂

Who would've thought that hiring a manager with no obvious credentials would result in the absolute mess we're in currently. Scullion saying at the fans meeting that this is a rebuilding season and its about next year after 4 games of a season is terrifying. If we get pumped out the South Challenge and Scottish this month then I hope he goes.

Was looking at games to go and see but from hearing what people are saying about the dismal football that's on show I think why bother

With braves, colts, then Edinburgh uni I feel like we need at least 7 points from this...but in struggling to see us picking up 4 at the minute.

Technically your not allowed a square pitch so it would need to be 90m x 89.9m

pedantry aside the joke pitch sizes need cleared out, even as a jobber amateur it was ridiculous playing on pitches where wingers can both be inside the box and out of the pitch.

Absolutely, I get some places have size constraints. I remember something about Brechin having an issue with that, but being real in the modern era where we don't have dozens of pitches crammed into a small place there should be plenty of reasonably sized pitches.

OK for an amateur game according to the letter of the rules of the game maybe but a pitch with those sort of dimensions inside an even wider speedway track would be bordering on farcical for a level that's supposed to be semi-professional and charges admission. Guess you could argue it already was bordering on farcical previously though. Think a ground share at Petershill would be the obvious alternative long term. Guess there are too many tenants there for that to be doable right now though given the way Caledonian Locomotives or whatever they are called beat them to it.

Yeah seems daft that they allow so much wiggle room, I know for international matches(I assume that also Includes uefa domestic comps) there's a minimum sizing for pitches of 64m wide 100m long with a maximum of 75m and 110m.

Seems baffling you can have such disparity in the dimensions out with the international with widths of 45-90m and 90m to 120m in length.

Hypothetically you could find a case where a pitch is 90m by 90m.

    Pay at the gate Adult £11. Concession £6. U14 £3. Carers £0.

These were the prices for Hearts B match. So I presume same for tomorrow.

looking forwards to welcoming you to Cliftonhill / Reigart again tomorrow.

Ideal mate cheers. Sadly back at uni but given no student card yet so the joys of the adult pricing tomorrow 😂

They wouldn't be replaced by anyone it would just go back to being a 16 team league

True true, stupid question incoming but hypothetically what would the response from a Celtic or Hearts be if their B team found themselves in the relegation zone come the end of play. Dummy spitting or do you think they'd accept the fate and try get in the the west/east respectively. I don't think either would accept them but it begs the question of what would occur in that situation if they didn't throw the toys out the pram and pull the teams

  7. ive seen us play against both B teams, in the first season they were in. there seemed to be a sense of entitlement between who was going to watch them with a "Oh its only the LL" mentality. sooner Celtic and Hearts are out the better. would rather they were replaced with ambitious teams from the EoS, WoS, SS leagues

Berwick v Celtic B perfectly summed up why the B teams offer nothing to the league and was always just a pathetic, prolonged display of brown-nosing by a variety of men in suits.

Berwick played to win as a team and went apeshit when the winner went in on 93 minutes. Celtic, by contrast, played as 11 individuals, purely interested in self promotion, and didn't give much of a toss that they lost.

And that is precisely how the participation of the B teams was designed to be, all along.

am I right in saying their first season in they demanded both changing rooms at Berwick and for a fridge to be brought in and when Berwick said no they spat the dummy and got changed on the bus or something? feel like I heard someone say that to me but I could be totally wrong

  9. Have to say with all honesty you guys have an excellent goalkeeper in Kennedy, the saves he pulled off today were outstanding. Could've been a lot more than 4 to us. Surprised he's playing LL at all and not League 1/League 2

It’s been that long since I was last able to access the enrolment/results portal that I can’t remember what it’s called, but it’s definitely still not available and I haven’t seen any update on graduation/enrolment in the regular updates they’ve been emailing to our studentmail inboxes.

I’d be intrigued to know if the folk that copy and paste from AI chatbots get flagged for plagiarism; surely what gets spat out has come from somewhere and is based on existing literature. I’ll admit I have in the past asked ChatGPT to suggest something to reference but it’s blatant cheating to ask it to answer questions and fully discuss entire theories.

Managed to get enrolled by getting access to my emails through ITDS. Emails were closed after I graduated in 2020 but sorted now thankfully

Ref's are shite mate. We had an absolute shocker last week. - blatant pen ignored by Specsavers & Co. Just saying that it's nice to be on the benevolent end for a change.

Fuming when it goes against us, smiling when it's in our favour. I guess that goes for most fans, though

Very true, swings and round abouts in the grand scheme of it. You brought a good support up with you yesterday

Can someone from UWS pay this ransom so their staff can get around to sending our results out? Surely people on resits and ECs have enough to stress about without their marks being three and a half weeks late

Been waiting to do online enrollment for the PGDE, still no happened yet and start tomorrow. So I assume there's still issues with it then?

Finally something good happens this season. First 3 points in a reasonably comfortable win at Shire, with their fans whingeing about refs rather than us.

Rated loanee Klimionek (from St Johnstone) got his first 45 minutes and Jamie McCormack is available next week after his long ban.

And Pat Scullion got sent off at half time, for being Pat Scullion.

tell me you'd accept that penalty going against you ladd, not one of your players even appealed for it, no fans appealed for it. Your team started moving as if to set up for a corner.

  14. Don't even know where to begin with yesterday.

Firstly, what even did the referee see for their penality? No appeals, no shouts from any Berwick player they moved as if to set up for a corner.

Stevenson has 4 fouls on our players, first player in the book is one of ours.

Their second goal, came from a foul on Connelly, a similar tackle to what we had a player cautioned for earlier.

Farcical but to be expected from the officials the SFA are pushing these days...

Refereeing isn’t a squad of Masons out to get you, but it’s a massive clique and largely unfair in terms of who gets to the top - you have to fit the mould the old boys look for.

What are the fees like these days? I ask because anyone below Category 3 will gain the best experience in the West, but if you’re acting as an assistant you’re giving up your Saturday afternoon for (what certainly used to be) 25 quid.

There’s the other reason most of the guys to make it to the very top are from Glasgow/Lanarkshire; money isn’t everything but imagine having to travel from Stirling, Dumfries etc and making a massive financial loss for several years for the sake of what, for many, is and always will be a hobby.

The flip side of this is that unless you’re an historically minted junior side, you can’t afford the increased cost of officials if they get paid more - for example when Threave were in the Lowland they paid the refs more than they took on the gate. Maybe if the big wigs can sort out more suitable commercial deals then the smaller clubs who currently have little opportunity to get into the SPFL can see some of that extra cash trickled down to them?

Varied, there is now a base rate then a milage top up. Average you walk away with is 60-65 per game, to encourage refs to not call off the likes of girvan or maybole due to travel for 45 quid. Base rates were 50/55 the higher being wos prem rates, assistants are 27.50 in the prem and 25 in the wos.

AR1s generally cat 4d occasionally cat 5s, ar 2 generally cat 5 and below still in the amateur/youth ranks.

I could still find myself on a wos prem line a week after doing a wos div one game based on the rota. It sometimes that was subbed out for a lowland league line etc.

For example with wages I know the SWFL and SWPL are all paid for by the SFA, well they were when I did them and I assume they still are like the Scottish cup games. But that's a major issues, people going in with a massive ego, getting paid more than the players and taking a chunk of gate money wondering why they are grossly disliked.

I had a certain style, I like to let play go on, banter with players to get them onside, none of this right go away don't talk you see alot of. But was continually brought up in observations.

  16. Looking forward to our away day to gretna, honest good people who run the club who make you feel welcome. Experienced this when we played them and they were playing out of annan. Made me, my other half and little one feel more than welcome.

Where does he get his hair cut? 2005?

They've put their old badge in a circle. Well done.

You've taken no notice of the actual changes from the old badge to the new badge, one of the three lines is now blue a throw back to the original colour of the club in the earlier days. The date of formation now sits either side of the ball which was previously below the crest too. Minute details but not simply just the old badge
