I'd characterise it as being like the game in escape to victory with Threave being the plucky Allies and Rob Roy being the Nazis but with a far less stylish strip. ,(I'm only joking before anyone starts crying, they're far worse than the Nazis).
Beith Juniors 6 v 1 Glasgow Perthshire
Johnstone Burgh 4 v 1 Irvine Meadow
Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 2 v 2 Threave Rovers (mon Threave)
Port Glasgow Juniors 1 v 1 Cambuslang Rangers
Shotts Bon Accord 3 v 1 Lesmahagow Juniors
West Park United 2 v 2 St. Peter’s
The best WOS team v's mid-table HL at home. I know where my money would be going.
I just hope you're preoccupied with this game when we play you the week before.
It's definitely not as if things are hopeless and we're doomed to permanent mediocrity. I think that with the right 2 or 3 experienced players we'd kick on quite a bit. Will we go out and get them though? I've no idea if we could attract a Gormley type striker these days with the cash flying around elsewhere so rather than rook ourselves trying to compete in the upper end of the market I get that spotting talent is the way to go and that takes longer to bare fruit.
If you have loads of possession but don't look like making much use of it (as we did in the second half) then you have to consider the possibility that the opposition decided to sit back on their lead and contain us.
Talbot sides of the fairly recent past would have made better use of the possession, but I could have seen us playing all day and not scoring yesterday.
We're a couple of players short and at the moment we're a fairly average outfit that team don't fear.
