  1. Dunfermline beat Queens this afternoon. What a magnificent, magnificent, magnificently put together Dunfermline official Twitter account.

Pass him the log-in details Mr X and let him have a shot.

It would be magnificent to see his positive updates but I hope it would be one per minute, I want to know who is taking a throw-in, what colour of boots Dykes is wearing, it would be magnificent.

Why don’t you get yourself to the away reserves matches like you quite clearly expect the volunteers, who have been magnificent throughout the years, to do?

Your help Bluenortherner could magnificently improve our updates this year but nah just sit on this and bitch (which you are magnificent at btw) about a lack of updates for a reserves match.

Mr X is a club legend for what he has done throughout the years.

Be grateful because if he downed tools due to constant then we’d be in a horrible position.

  2. Queens away to either Sutton or Bohemians in the next round please, assuming that East Fife are put to the sword.  Connah's Quay or Coleraine would also be a decent away trip.

Now watch Queens get beat by the Fifers or draw Motherwell or St Mirren under-21's in the next round.

I’d take the Colts teams every day over the teams you’ve suggested. We want to win this cup, especially in our centenary year, if do beat the Fifers and somehow the Colts sides also get through then we all should be wanting to play the Colts side!!

I’m firmly in the “get the Colts out” camp but they are in the competition so if we do draw them it would be fantastic for us to get through!

We can get our trips to Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Lithuania, Luxembourg and San Marino next year.

  3. Well worth £5 of anybody's money tonight, thoroughly enjoyed that. It's a friendly so can't get too critical but for me there were plenty of positives and negatives.

    Negatives

    - Another cross defended poorly and a goal conceded as a result. We looked shaky at a few corners as well. Really hope this isn't going to continue this season or I might combust.

    - Our persistence to go long. We got a goal from it tonight but more often than not it came to nothing. Dykes isn't the kind of player who can pick the ball out the air and bring people into play yet he's being deployed this way. In games where it is completely ineffective the guy will receive pelters all game no doubt.

    - Our lack of depth. If/when injuries/suspensions kick in with our better players we could be in serious trouble.

    - Really don't want to have a pop but I hope our wide players are mostly Todd and Stirling. Thought Murray looked really out of his depth tonight and after playing so many games last season I think the supporters won't be as forgiving this season and will show their frustration. Definitely a player to keep but he's not up to being a regular starter IMO.

    Positives

    - Well for me we were comfortably the better side against a Livi team who we struggled against last season.

    - When we played the ball on the deck we looked very good. This makes the long ball all the more frustrating.

    - We came from 2 down which is a positive shock!

    - Some of our link-up play was excellent. Harkins was quiet the first half but he took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second. I think if he turns up we'll always be in a game but if he has an off day our creativity will be seriously lacking from midfield. Dykes took his goal very well.

    - We limited Livi's chances. Unfortunately they scored from their only shots on target but at least we kept them down to two.

    - I thought Bell put in a decent shift when he came on as well and Mercer looked vastly improved as well.

    - Edited to add that our starting 11 (swap Todd for Murray) looks like it won't have a problem competing in the league.

Not sure what to make of the CB trialists. Mainly positive from both. I thought the first half one looked good. Comfortable on the ball, strong in the tackle and won most his headers. The only two negatives were he looked lost for the first goal amd he looks to be carrying a bit of weight but that can obviously be worked on. At the very least I hope he gets another shot but if it was keep or chuck based purely on tonight I'd sign him.

The second half one didn't have as much to do. He dealt with what he had to and was extremely vocal, giving instructions to the other defenders. Another one I hope gets another run out. Would also keep him. I expect it'll be one or the other.

Did we really struggle against Livi last season?

One defeat in four suggestions otherwise.

Yes only one win too but think we handled the beast that was Livi well last season compared to other teams.

Wasn’t there tonight but hearing Doyle was good. Rather him in than unknown players at this stage. Can’t take the gamble imo.
  4. 1 hour ago, Doonhamer doon south said:

Serious. Ah well ok im sure its worth the wait. Be nice if the club to score a PR victory and announce a release date soon. Any reason for the delay that you know of?

What I was told it's the supplier that has caused the delay. Players kits all here though, I believe.

To be fair to Queens in past seasons they have always been good at having tops available way before the first game of the season.

  5. To say it was OTT build-up is strange. One tweet (which didn't say new signing) about a player (who many were sad to not sign-up ) is hardly OTT imo.

Waiting four hours for the club to announce the signing was the only issue at all.

Atleast we are talking about the team and surely getting excited that the season is nearly here. Marshall coming back is only good news in my eyes.

We still need a right back, centre back, striker and midfielder.

But atleast we have a left back now and talking about positive things!!!

  6. Rooney can’t defend so no big loss for us imo. Wouldn’t be surprised if he played right wing for ICT. Impressed with Beith signing though, saw him a couple of times for Stranraer and he was a class above. He’ll be a danger for clubs next season.

Here’s a thought if Inverness get into the play offs and somehow get promoted. Shaun Rooney is a Scottish Premiership player!

Again not fussed with the departure hopefully we can sign a proper defender to replace him.

  7. Martin is an excellent addition for Queens, by far the best keeper on show last season.

Regarding Robinson, club legend for his heroics in the Double winning season. But his behaviour in matches is questionable. Take you back to the Gus era, away to Dundee and he decides to take on three Dundee players from his box until he reaches the half way line. Madness.

His continuing antics with opposition players and time wasting, on some occasions this season has started in the FIRST half, are enough to merit he shouldn't be first choice goalkeeper.

Liking the business Naysmith is doing so far, hope he keeps it up.

  8. And they had Dobbie (& O'Connor) in front of them! What a group that was.

Did someone mention MacFarlane, Tosh, O'Connor and Dobbie? Take me back please.

Two things I'll never forgive Mr Chisholm for back then:
    1. Starting superstar Kean over Dobbie in Europe.
    2. Taking off MacFarlane in Farum for Scott Robertson.
