  1. Applications in by 24th May according to the website. So I would think June at least by the time it's all done and dusted.
  2. What's Danny Lennon like as a manager? Would he be a good fit for Stirling?
  3. I dont believe she has a say in who comes in as manager. That is a job for club and trust board jointly I believe according to the terms drawn up and agreed upon a while back?
  4. And he still lives in Stirling so he would see that as a bonus. He has been our manager before, but I feel like it was only an interim thing for a few games. My mind has gone blank on his time here - it wasn't very long
  5. He could have been sacked, he could have walked or the likelihood is somewhere in the middle which is always an option that alot of people forget about. Mutual termination isn't just a term for Football Manager. He could have been informed about the budget cuts for next season, said that he needed more money, board refused and they just agreed to go their separate ways. He could have told them that he isn't enjoying it here anymore and board agreed and they have mutually agreed a settlement and departed. Not everything is mega cut throat. Regardless of how it happened, it's happened now and we move forward. If Young was happy to stay and the board have indeed sacked him then it's a risky move and not one I'm sure I would agree with. He has made some big mistakes this season but I didn't really see many people seriously call for his head, even after relegation was confirmed. I think the majority of supporters seem to have been mildly confident he was the correct man for the job (albeit alot of the goodwill he had previously built up had been hacked at this season). The lack of recruitment last summer was the big problem, I think we only made two signings for the step up. Whilst he tried to rectify this from January and the coming months, it was too late really by then. Looking at any positives - it's been done rapidly so I assume decisions on contracts and player recruitment will be up to the new boss and a chance to really clear the deadwood. As others have said, Youngs loyalty to his players might have continued into next season. I'm hoping appointment of a new manager is done and dusted in the next couple of weeks. I suspect we may miss out on alot of potential signings/targets from out of contract players over the next few weeks.
  6. Yeah this. I thought he actually looked quite sharp and hungry and almost got himself a goal. Enough to make me go from "nah euros has come too early for him" to "If Clarke names a 30 man large squad then he should probably be in it"
  7. I still think this is mental Even if Gordon had played zero minutes, he would still be on the plane in front of Kelly (and likely ahead of Clark too). Do you genuinely believe if Gunn was injured, Clarke would play Liam Kelly over Craig Gordon? Have you lost your mind. You may hark on about club minutes played but that matters not a jot for this goalkeeping scenario.
  8. Sons fans on here are a decent bunch, even last season in the title race and the pitch postponements, would have been easy for them to have been bitter towards us (especially as our fans started to get pissed off) but they never did and indeed looked inwards to their own club for last seasons disappointment. Gid c***s
  9. Because (regardless of game time) Gordon is a better goalie than Kelly. Its that simple. If Angus Gunn and Zander Clark got injured at the tournament, are you genuinely saying you would trust Kelly in goals over Gordon? If you would then I suspect you would be in the minority. Assuming the goalies are Gunn, Clark and Gordon, I actually think Gordon would get the nod over Clark too if anything happened to Gunn at the tournament.
  10. Oooft Dale Hilson scored I'll take it. What's that, his second goal of the season? Some striker
  11. If we can get a draw from tonight from a confident Dumbarton side, I would take it. Aside from Edinburgh Under 20s, we have only won 3 games since the start of October (Montrose x 2, Kelty). I would love for us to pull something out of the hat in these playoffs but can't see it happening at all. We have had loads of confident fans over the last couple of months that we would avoid relegation, would love to have a bit of what they are smoking. I genuinely want to be positive about our chances but I'm awaiting someone pointing out any evidence to be so. All this "playoffs are a lottery" nonsense like its some sort of penalty shootout for a place in league one.
  12. This should be a comfortable win for Dumbarton. We are honestly brutal at the moment. Give away cheap easy goals and struggle massively in front of goal. Every crucial end of season game so far we have choked, confidence is clearly rock bottom and I'm expecting Dumbarton to hit the final nail in the coffin over these two games. We have had survival in our own hands for weeks and weeks and blown it every time. I would love to sit here and think "oh it's one off games, it's a reset, nothing before matters etc" but we have shown nothing for months that gives me any glimmer of hope in these playoffs.
  13. Ross Stewart is back for Southampton in full training and Russell Martin says he is expected to be in the squad this weekend. Too late I feel to get the nodnfor Euros squad even if he was to bag a couple goals in remaining games
  14. Discussed to death I'm sure but can't be arsed searching back; I know Beith working for their license, if they win league, will they be allowed to compete in playoff? And of the other clubs in contention, who would be/wouldn't be allowed? I assume criteria from Wosfl to LL is different to that of Tier 5 to SPFL
  15. On paper Annan should win this. Their form has been magnificent lately, fighting for every result and have clawed themselves into eighth spot. We have been very poor, obviously lacking confidence and struggling to score. That being said, it is a one off game, it's all on the line, we know we have to win. We were decent at the start of the season, Annan were poor at the start of the season - we have to hope the manager and players can pull it off and somehow get the win. My head says 3-0 Annan My heart says 0-0 (or conceding right at the death as we push for a goal) I would love to be mega optimistic and course they will get my full backing but I'm just not seeing us beating them on their current form. Staying in the division was the ultimate aim and I don't care how we do it, whether it's next week or playoffs. Come on Binos!
  16. Not sure how bad it is but by McTominays reaction it doesn't look good. Players usually can tell when it's a bad one and his face had 'missing euros' all over it. Hope he is ok
  17. Was looking at Lewis Morgans stats earlier - (20 goals in 44 appearances in the MLS for New York) and it got me thinking of Johnny Russell who I think was doing some mental numbers over there in the run up to last Euros but of course didn't get a look in. Hoping one of the stats guys can help, has Steve Clarke ever called up a player from the MLS? I think Russell and Morgans last caps were maybe just before we appointed Clarke and Gaulds last call up was when he was in Portugal (again pre-Clarke)
  18. A long list makes sense whether it's released publicly or an internal players thing. There will be a bunch of fringe guys in key positions - McCrorie, Conway, Nisbet etc where their season will be over but Clarke will want them to keep in match shape in case they are called up for last minute injuries or whatever
  19. I got nowhere with mine. Same thing, an issue with scanning the ticket or something. I told them I could send them flight, hotel, uber and even mcdonalds receipts from when I was there but they couldn't even be arsed replying.
  20. What are the dates for Euros squad announcement/friendlies etc? I'm assuming there isn't an opportunity now for Clarke to call up a larger group and then trim it down for final squad.
  21. Karamoke Dembele Popping in this thread as last I seem to recall he didn't want to play for Scotland (but I might be remembering wrong) Been keeping an eye on him this season and not suggesting he is ready for a full call up or anything but without a doubt had his best professional season yet and only 21, he still has plenty time to make it work. He has been at Blackpool in League One this season (on loan from Brest in Ligue 1) and has managed 14 assists and 8 goals and nominated for League One young player of the season. Next year will be massive for him in terms of building on this season. If he comes back to England, he should have no problem securing a loan to a Championship team.
  22. As long as Falkirk beat Annan next week, I don't think Queens can finish 9th (due to goal difference - unless you were to be cuffed abour 12-0)
  23. Come on Binos! All the fans seem to be up for the fight and behind the manager and team - I just hope the players have the same attitude today. Even though Queens fans and players have had a torrid season, I expect for a crunch game like this, they will be right up for it as well.
