  1. McCall said to me last year that his time at Ayr was the best dressing room he has ever had. Whether he was lucky or not, if it happens once a lifetime then surely there has to be some luck involved at some point for it all to fall into place. Still didn’t go up though.
  2. The fear I have now is that the gaffer panics, and plays every game from here on in not to lose - which would be a guaranteed way of totally pissing off the support from day 1. For what it’s worth, I’m sure that our poor showing in this cup will have affected season ticket sales. Just imagine if we had 3 wins from 3, banged in a few goals in the process, there would be decent numbers heading up to Perth and a support all pulling in the same direction. I just cannot see for the life of me, us hitting anywhere near 1,500 season tickets sold. I hate being so pessimistic, but last season taught me a lesson - if it looks like shit, smells like shit, and tastes like shit - it’s shit.
  3. Not at, not watching the game. Jumped onto BBC website at half time. Game info makes us sound like we are battering Annan. Jumped on here and thought - oh dear. I really don’t see Bullen lasting until Christmas at this rate.
  4. C’mon Bullen - let us out the traps and go for it. Best 11 on the park and go for the throat from the kick off. Get the juices flowing and bring a few more in for the open day on Saturday!! Mon Ayr!!!!
  5. I think we are missing someone in the Moff mould that can link midfield and attack. Still had too many long passes yesterday that were are best 50/50. When playing possession based football from the back, we spread out too thinly and we’re guilty of giving possession away as Elgin were man for man if not more in midfield. When going long, we lost out on too many second balls. We rarely hunted in packs or had more than 1 pass option at best. I really think we made that game harder for ourselves than it really needed to be. Also, I really think we need to play 433 We have 2 really good midfielders in Murdoch and Dempsey, but they will be easily nullified by extra numbers from the opposition. Dont know for certain but I would be amazed if Bullen thought that was his league starting 11.
  6. Does anyone think we might be a little bit lightweight in the middle of the park? Not in any sense of skill or ability, but in stature and maybe get bullied off the ball a bit easy by other teams?
  7. Would be interesting to see like-for-like results / points gained between the two for both run ins. In his interview, Bullen was quite adamant that he was able to get us in the top 5 taking his results into consideration for his stewardship last season. I would say that in itself bodes quite well and gives me hope that Bullen is the right man at the right time. The bigger picture really, the way I see it, is that the chairman is wanting to lift the club as a whole to a higher level but sustain it too. Not just throw money at players for a quick joy ride to the top flight, but you can see he is adding infrastructure to generate more lucrative income streams for the future. I know it’s not the Gretna way, but who wants that, and patience is what is needed as the whole project isn’t going to happen in 1 or 2 seasons.
  8. You should be bust. You didn’t pay your debt and had the bank write it off. Tax payers money was owed and written off. No better than Sevco.
  9. Will that go towards paying your debt that was written off? You know, doing the right thing and all that - seeing as you are a “Massive Club” and all? That a yes? Yip? Defo? Absolute gang!
  10. That moment in between the announcement and all the stats and stories (everyone on Google)
  11. I need some help troops for a wee project - more information to follow when ready. I’m looking for important / iconic goals / goalscoring exploits for Ayr On my list so far I have Moff at Brechin (play offs) Geggan against Killie (cup) Jamie Adams against Raith (league) Roberts against Hibs (cup) Smith against St Mirren (cup) Williams against Killie (cup) Stevo against Airdrie (play offs) Sir Lawrence against Dundee Utd (league)
  12. See Hamilton are managerless again! Wonder if they are looking at a player / manager?
