As I said I hope we take him

Why would you think he would want to come to your clusterfuck of a club?

5 managerial changes since 2020 hardly suggests continuity.

Whereas he has been given time and more importantly trust at Airdrie to implement his vision. Would he get that time with you guys? Recent history suggests no.

As much as you could pay him more I get the impression that's not the be all and end all for him at this point in his managerial career.

It didn't with Dundee's manager last season, and it was probably the best decision they made.

Think he fell out with everyone though?

Unless Goodwin has a similar relationship it's not comparable and McCabe doesn't really need to go anywhere in a hurry so won't go to any clubs where the guys in charge are trigger happy at the 1st sign of trouble. Even for more money.

How dare you! We will not tolerate Scottish football fans trying to point score...on a Scottish football forum.

You insinuating that the OP is about trip over his massive petted lip won't help those traumatised fans who will have to live with the "2 stretch in nam" level PTSD of being told "ye were talking shite, git it roond ye" by the notorious Airdrie online nudgers...

Yeah I really don't get what the issue is with us being delighted in proving everyone wrong.

How dare we bring it up and try and have some fun with it.

If it truly annoys that much then I would politely suggest you have waaaaay too much time to get wound up about daft things like football.

Also, if it truly annoys that much then that's fucking tremendous, I hope it continues to annoy for many days and weeks to come.

Stirling are a group of fans who are happy after 10 years in L2 that they have finally made it back to the level they all felt they should have been operating at. Fine bunch of folk.

Airdrie are a group of fans who are happy after 10 years in L1 that they have finally made it back to the level they all felt they should have been operating at, but also feel the need to run around the internet shouting about how wonderful they are and dredging up old posts for a few "told you so" put downs of slight criticism and the crime of failing to correctly predict an inherently unpredictable sport.

Oh the humanity. Won't someone think of the children!

Suck it up buttercup and don't be so offended. It's only banter.

Airdrie are by some distance the worst side we’ve faced. In four games McCabe hasn’t worked out how to beat us which is strange as it isn’t exactly rocket science.

    Yep it's bizarre.

However, the most recent defeat actually has seemed to galvanise the team and 3 wins from 3 since has seen us almost secure the playoffs.

lol so it’s even worse 🤣

No axe to grind against Airdrie and what they’ve done over the last 12 months playing nice football is fantastic for them and their support.

That said…it’s fookin Airdrie, not Hearts. They’ve pretty much the same squad  that finished in the playoffs in league 1 with the addition of Todorov and the talented LB loan from Hibs.

They've lost or drawn 18 of their 31 games played. With our big squad, we really should be able to win this type of game.

    😂😂😂

    Sounding a bit Falkirk-esque.

As good as Airdrie have been against us this season, we've also been unusually poor in every game against them (genuinely not trying to take anything away from Airdrie with that statement - it's simply true).  Saying one team is "more up for it" than the other is a bit of a lazy cliché but it really has seemed that way at times.

I have no doubt that Rovers will be fired up for this game and will press from the start.  As fans, we also need to be up for this from the start.  With a few exceptions, the atmosphere has been awful at home all season and we really need to change that tonight.  That means as many as possible making an effort.  It annoys me when people start shouting at the young team to start singing.  If you want an atmosphere, you start it.

This league is still there to be won and 3 points tonight puts massive pressure on United on Friday.  Drop points tonight and it's all about finding form for the playoffs.

I'm nervous as hell but confident that we have the players capable of going out and doing the business tonight.  Putting aside any talk of who the better manager is, it's about the 11 men in our team going out there and doing their jobs.  We're 16 points ahead of Airdrie for a reason and they need to go out there tonight and show it.

    😂😂

I predicted us as 9th this season in the predictions thread and was absolutely one of the people who was critical of the signing policy (many of whom I'll still maintain have been a waste of a wage Dunlop, GavGal etc). What I will say and have already eaten my humble pie on this is that my main moan was that there were players who we retained who I felt were nowhere near the standard. That's come to bear with ATS but I had earmarked Watson and Telfer as not good enough and I couldn't have been more wrong, particularly with Telfer, he's been absolutely sensational this season.

I always felt like Telfer was a player more suited to the championship than L1 and I'm so glad that's came to pass.

    Easily a candidate for POTY.

Is this true? Most Championship fans had Airdrie as favourites for 10th?

Surely that's just lazy "they only came up via the playoffs " chat.

They clearly had momentum, scored lots and a clever young manager. I thought it was clear they'd hold their own at least.

    Yep. This.

Most Airdrie fans were cautiously optimistic we would hold our own and consolidate.

Personally I never thought we'd be challenging for the playoff but I'm 100% here for the journey and IF we make them who knows?

Regardless of how it plays out, I think we have surprised a lot of people and I'm good with that.

You may well be laughing but he's pretty much nailed it.

    Yawn.

Has to be said it's tremendous how much that game has and continues to rile you guys up.

    Big. Bad. Airdrie.

Oakley especially, came out yesterday with steam coming out his ears, got in Fordyces face early doors and was simply laughed at.

Delighted to see wee Dougies face at the end. Almost in tears speaking to Garif.

Fordyce was absolutely honking the last time he was seen at this level and that was a good few years ago now. The biggest issue that promoted squads make when coming up is they remain too loyal to players. Guys like Fordyce, Taylor-Sinclair, McCabe, Gallagher, Watson and Telfer aren’t good enough for this level.

My guess is they’ll start the season off poorly, realise they aren’t up to it and then panic sign on the last day of the season.

    Good shout.

On a more serious note. What's the parking arrangements.

Last time I visited I parked in the local scheme but palls who know the area say not a good idea.

Also I remember neds ( not actual Airdrie  supporters ) chucking stones at vehicles on the way out.

Just got my insurance renewal up 65% with 10+ no claims and don't fancy incurring additional costs.

    So what's the best parking?

    Stadium.

3 bucks and your car will be safe as houses.
