  1. I've no idea as I haven't even tried to work it out. You're probably right though. I don't really want us to qualify for them TBH as I don't think we'd have much of a chance and it could end up doing more harm than good. I'll be happy if we avoid the relegation play off and start preparing for next season.
  2. Challenging for the fuckin play-offs? I want Morton to beat Dumbarton tomorrow!
  3. I'd definitely keep Longridge; very useful player at this level!
  4. Eh, the Craig Ireland comment was meant to be sarcastic! I'm clearly not very good at it!
  5. I was and I wasn't! imagine a team like the Lisbon lions within 30 miles of the falkirk stadium...a team full of McAllisters and sibbalds! as we all know difficult to get 18 or so players from the area good enough however probably would be a good bond between players and fans and a great marketing tool! hate watching Scotland now as many players don't even have a scottish accent, clyb football is going same way with very few local players and many loan players who aren't even properly signed with the club That, in itself, was impressive enough until it's realised that only Bobby Lennox, who was from Saltcoats, was from so far away. The rest all came from Glasgow or surrounding area!
  6. I can just imagine the amount of moaning and whinging we would get from some quarters if the club wasn't trying to attract sponsorship, advertising etc. Some of it appears a wee bit OTT at times but it doesn't worry me one bit and if it's doing anything at all to bring in some cash then it can only be good. Having supported Falkirk since 1968 it's probably no surprise that none of the marketing stuff they do makes one iota of difference to me though.
  7. Oh aye, forgot about Shepherd (he's scoring for EC though so they may want to keep him), didn't know about the rest though. Also means that we'll have two keepers that he may not necessarily want to keep.
  8. Presumably then he doesn't own it outright or he would be in a position to write the debt off?
  9. Don't think we have options on the loanees? Could be wrong though. I think, and again may be wrong, that only Harris, Loy and McKee's deals extend beyond this season although we have options on Robson, McGhee and Sibbald. I can see a mass exodus in the summer and hopefully a lot more quality coming in, especially in defence.
  10. My fear about reaching the playoffs is that they may do more harm than good! Obviously I want us to win every game we contest and if that means we reach them then so be it but I'd be happy in avoiding the relegation playoffs and starting early preparations for next season. I'd definitely keep McGhee (even though he gets on my tits sometimes as he ambles back after losing the ball during one of his mazy runs), Robson, Sibbs, Nelson, Longridge and Jakubiak.
  11. I agree, however budget (or lack of it) is likely to play a major part in the standard and number of players that we can sign so the fact that he can play two positions is likely to be a factor IMO. I would hope that he's the first name among the subs next season so the fact that he's brilliant at penalties doesn't really come in to my thinking.
  12. Oh I think he'll definitely lose Watson, not because he's particularly bad but as he needs to make room for more quality. I think Grant has the rest of the season to show that he can get back to his pre-injury form. Can't see him doing that though.
  13. I think we'll see a lot of players leaving in the summer, unfortunately those may include some that we would rather keep. I've also got a sneaky suspicion that he may want to keep Muirhead because he can cover two positions.
  14. I believe that both McGhee and the club have an option which presumably means that he's got to stay if we want him to and we've got to keep him if he wants to stay whether we want him or not?
  15. Hopefully far too early to know who should get it but, thus far, I think McGhee, Robson, Sibbs, Longridge, Jakubiak and Nelson could all be in with a shout.
  16. That's very good. Enio Morricone makes it or me though.
  17. I don't think there's any doubt that we're still in danger. FWIW I also think that we'll survive but, as you say, it's not impossible that we could get sucked back into it and I was (somewhat tongue in cheek) merely trying to share my thoughts on the type of player that we could attract. You must remember that I'm retired and have feck all else to do all day.
  18. Don't think so. I read somewhere that both the club and the player have an option though?
