BFTD
I thought all the chat about me being on a watchlist was just larks until I realised just how many people on here have been called up for jury duty. Seems like everyone's been called up at least once. Someone once said they'd been called up four times, which I didn't think was even allowed. The Man is clearly worried about my particular brand of sexy justice.

Always assumed it was in relation to the caution I received in 2001 for drinking in the street

tamthebam
A Court clerk friend of mine chose Charlie Reid of the Proclaimers to be a juror and he did it. So if he can do it, and he's a global megastar, none of you losers have got any excuse!
DA Baracus
Cited twice, within a few months of each other. Each time I got my work to write me a letter that got me out of it.
scottsdad
Never been called up. My mum was a few years ago. Whilst my old man was a serving copper she wasn't allowed to, but within a couple of months of him retiring she was cited.
jimbaxters
Looking at hire cars over there for the Christmas period and the cheapest by far are electric cars from Hertz. Having never driven one I have no idea about the logistics and having heard nothing but negativity about them I'm a bit sceptical. Can you charge it from your house overnight (from a conventional socket) or does it have to be a car charging point. How easy/convenient is this? My neighbour bought a new electric car earlier this year and it took a day for the power supply to be sorted so he can park in his driveway and charge it overnight. You can also charge it up at various power points dotted around in car parks and the like.

Was just looking at hiring a car for my trip across in June next year. Almost 2000 quid for 20 odd days. Ridiculous.

invergowrie arab
Would I be correct in assuming that when multi billion pound supermarkets encourage me to donate to charity at the end of my shop that they in fact claim that donation as their own and probably have tome tax scam going as part of it too?

It's well dear innit? You will probably have the same problem I do in that there will be some of those 20 day where the car is parked up all day.
