Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Hopefully this will knock all the Falkingham patter on the head.
Jan Vojáček
Johnston could be a smashing signing, was it not just a few years ago that Sportscene were hitting out with the 'Mini Messi' patter about him? The only thing that could count against him would be if injuries have ruined him, but that looks like a very good bit of business.
renton
In fairness Johnston could well be a decent signing, assuming he's recovered fully from his injury (mind you we could say the same about Vaughan). However, what happens once he's poached the 1 or 2 decent ex Killie lads?
CALDERON
Lets just see what happens first, and how these guys cope at this level first of all.
renton
From twitter: "Second signing is postponed for the time being. Watch this space..." I don't know why, I just find that funny.

Varna Rover
But that's not all he did, is my point. A manager surely has to be able to look beyond his direct experience of players when building a squad, so that he can pick guys who will suit the situation rather than just guys he happens to know. That way you avoid stagnation as the same group of travelling failures get older. McKinnon may have had guys he knew and wanted, he also signed from fairly left field: Craigen and Longridge, for example. Agreed, but they were amongst his first signings were they not. Lets see what loanies he gets first which i suggest will or could be the difference in our squad, IE hardie and co. As calderon says, lets see what happens with the lad first before we pass judgement.

renton
router is down Oh good, I was worried it was more along the lines of "wait a minute, that's not a left back, it's a traffic cone! GARRRRYYYY!!!!" Edited June 6, 2016 by renton

There is obviously no set hard and fast rule for it, and yeah Johnston looks like he could be a decent signing. However, he's not building a whole new team, he's adding to an established squad - I could see the point in wholesale signings of guys he knows if he was starting from a small base of players but he's not. He needs to very carefully add to the existing team and I'm just hoping that some forethought goes into those signings beyond digging out his Killie contact sheet. With your knowledge on players/tactics/ formations you should have thrown your CV into the mix for the managers job Edited June 6, 2016 by Rovers_Lad
Deeboy
Is Johnstone a replacement for Connolly? If not you could have a couple of extremely talented, if somewhat lightweight wing men next season.
Michael W
Connolly has been offered a contract. That he has not signed it would suggest he has, or is waiting for, other offers. Rory McKeown likewise. Edited June 6, 2016 by Michael W

HoBNob
Our first signing is Chris Johnston: http://www.raithrovers.net/25214/new-signing-chris-johnston.htm Without looking at the link can y'all tell which club he last played for? If he gets over his injuries that's an outstanding signing, he broke through the season we were in the SPL and he was tremendous, good player in there and if he keeps injury free he'll thrive in this division. Gary Locke might ruin him though, not sure.

So will be also be due money for Connolly if we offer him a contract and he goes elsewhere?
