Michael W
I would happily boo McGlynn. For all his previous achievements at the club, he burned the whole place down before he left. It wasn't just *that* signing, either; he crippled us with daft contracts being handed out, which we have only now freed ourselves from. The club's management should have been better at setting him parameters, but what did he think was going to happen? Naturally, he fucked off when the chickens came home to roost and there was no money for new players. At least the club is now properly managed. The irony that an ex-board stacked with accountants failed to implement basic cost control processes remains. Jilted John
I still struggle to accept that he was to blame for those contracts. For me, that one is Sim throwing his own poor decision making onto someone who was already in the dug hoose!

raith1974
It's been a long weekend on here. Hopefully the club announce a new signing soon.
AllanJM
The Charlie Telfer rumour is interesting. Another midfielder doesn't seem the most obvious requirement for us but I thought the same in January and we brought Turner in. It wouldn't surprise me if Murray does want to brig another one in and he's certainly someone who could come in and add something. I don't think he gets in our starting 11 if everyone is available though so that could put him off. Yes, I am just talking about anything else to get the discussion back onto the current Rovers situation and not the past.

It would perhaps mean that Murray sees Matthews filling the right back role if Telfer comes in. At least in the short term anyway.

DaveT
It's difficult to second guess what Murray might decide to bring into the team. It would seem likely that a right back would be on the list but will we buy or loan, it will likely depend on who's available and fits into squad.
David Fernández
When Ian Murray was manager for us he tended to sign players that he worked with in the past and I don't think he's managed Charlie Telfer before, I think Telfer would jump at the chance to join Raith tbh, it'll be interesting to see where he ends up. It wouldn't surprise me if you were to sign Kerr McInroy as he's been released from Killie, stays in Fife and was very successful in a loan spell with us, also previously worked under Murray.

Would have welcomed that 2 seasons agi, but career has stalled since joining Killie. Completely one paced, and was poor in the games v Partick. I'd suggest our issues are further up the park, and like many teams we are crying our for a goalscorer.

I would love to have Kerr McInroy back at Airdrie but the chances of that happening are unrealistic. He got 8 assists and 4 goals last season which is still a pretty decent return, he was excellent in a loan spell with us a few seasons ago and I'd probably rate him higher than Telfer. I don't know enough to know what else Raith need but yourself and Ayr have signed pretty well so far already and it's still early days in the window.

Interesting one actually. Both Telfer and McInroy can play as DM, CM and AM through the middle. However they would only be a back up to Broon, Byrne, Matthews and obviously Stanton in the AM role. If we were to go to flat 4-4-2 they might be a better option than one of the other more specialised AM or DM guys but thats a big if... Both are free agents so maybe as squaddies.
Broken Algorithms
Wouldn't surprise me if McInroy ends up at Dunfermline given he's a Pars fan.

He's probably the kind of player they need too although of course I'd prefer it if they keep playing Joe Chalmers.......
Michael W
As it stands in midfield, I think we broadly split into two categories : Brown, Matthews, Byrne (usually 2 will play) Easton, Connolly, Mullin, Stanton. Smith & Vaughan can arguably be included here as well. Three, perhaps four, of these six will usually play. Montagu and Gibson have also come in, with one on each category. We are pretty well set here and this should not be our priority at the moment. A fair point to note that Kyle Turner has not been replaced, but he wasn't our player and the injury to Sam Stanton was surely a motivating factor in bringing him in. Keith Watson has been replaced by Fordyce, although last season shows we need another CB in, which I'm hoping is the one that The Courier was adamant that we are signing. Naturally we also need an RB to replace the unperson that played for us last season. No rumours in that department is a bit odd, I have to say. And finally, a new striker is also needed as we haven't replaced Jamie Gullan. Well, I suppose we did with a loanee last season, but we certainly shouldn't be bringing him back. Trying to find a good one at the minute seems like a herculean task, however. Edited June 17 by Michael W
Kooz92
On the striker front I'd love to see us bring in someone like Alex Samuel. He was a nightmare for our defence 2nd half of last year and has that great mix of goalscoring ability and physical ability that I think we lack up top. That hatrick for Caley at San Starko was a perfect example of a Striker bullying a defence.

Dump him in our team and he will score goals.
