What's better? A Swiss cat or a Swiss dog?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/30205410

Interesting. Not heard anything about this in my 2 and a half years living here.

Switzerland has many secret shames it seems.

ETA:

Chinned a colleague about this. He reckons that the only folk who might still eat cat are mountain dwellers and the occasional farmer. He did not comment on the dog meat. The lack of denial tells it's own story if you ask me.

Disagree, without Ross. I wouldn't have such strong knowledge of day-to-day living in Switzerland.

I don't think he knows that much about day to day living in Switzerland. He spends far too much of his time on here to notice most of what's going on.

What's wrong with eating cats and dogs anyway?

At least, more so than any other animal.

It's more the way that they're captured / treated. In Vietnam for example, there's a full time black market in stealing people's pets, jamming them all into a big cage like sardines and driving them off to the local city as meat.

If the animal is treated 'fairly' then I'm not fussed tbh. Had horse in Italy and thought it was lovely. Also tried whale in Iceland, although that was a piece of my mate's so no additional animals died as a result. So I keep telling myself.

That whale probably fed the whole of Reykjavik so don't beat yourself up about it. You and your mate might have murdered a whole new whale though, I suppose.

Interview today for dermatology ward,if I get it, its a drop in hours and a pay band lower, but i will still have the nurse bank to make up the hours .

Hopefully Renal will get their fingers out and decide one way or another whether to offer me a new contract as I only have 1 full week left in that particular department
