Residents in Taylor County in Florida have been told to evacuate due to the incoming Hurricane Helene; it’s suspected that about half the 20,000 who live there will ignore this.

The Sheriff has advised them to write their names and social security numbers on their arms using black magic marker so they can be easily identified if anything goes wrong!

It's called White-out in the States. If you're black and ask for that in a shop in rural Florida you're probably getting shot at that point and not having to worry about the hurricane.

I think it's compulsory for somebody to point out that it was invented by Mike Nesmith's mum.

I'm pretty much a tech Luddite but saw this in today's paper. I'm sure our more tech-savvy brethren can advise to it's merits .........or not.
