davidkennedyshand
Madness tonight at the O2 in glasgow. Was a fantastic gig. Wasn't that bothered about going to see Paul Heaton but was surprised to walk in and hear him and his band doing Caravan of Love.Thought he ignored that one these days. Madness were superb. The entire place was bouncing.Started off well then there was a drop in pace and the place went daft as soon as they played Madness and kept bouncing right until the end of Night Boat to Cairo Edited November 28, 2010 by davidkennedyshand
DomDom
Biffy Clyro was incredible. "Diary of Always" was ridiculously good. Can't believe they pulled that one out of the bag. Also well chuffed that they played "Know Your Quarry" which hadn't been getting an airing. "That Golden Rule" was utterly utterly sensational. I've always said that some bands have the music that can make the SECC an amazing venue and Biffy Clyro are one of those bands. The Futureheads are, unfortunately, not. -
Lordofthewing
Interpol last night at the Corn Exchange. Haven't actually heard much of their stuff, but my mate had a spare ticket and it turned out to be a pretty good gig. That was also the first time I've ever been to the Corn Exchange, but I should have realised the bevvy would be a tad overpriced (even by Edinburgh standards).
DomDom
Interpol are brilliant live. They have a superb aura about them. Even if it's a slow song with no crowd participation, the music usually sucks you right in. Remember hearing "Pioneer to the Falls" for the first time when they played it at Leeds and it felt like everyone was watching in awe rather than being bored. -

Derek Patterson
Volbeat on Thursday Just got round to giving them a listen there. Have heard them getting talked up on the Metal Hammer podcast. No too shabby actually. Boy has a pretty distinct voice.

Boy has a pretty distinct voice. They are brilliant. Only heard about them when they got announced to play at Download last year. Have been trying to get more people into them as they aren't very well known in the UK (huge in Scandanavia and mainland Europe, selling out arena tours) but haven't been too successful so far. Hopefully once the tour is over more people will give them a listen and they will grow over here.
YER SISTERS YER MAW
Seen Cast at the Barra's last night. Good gig, brought back some memories.
NotThePars
Pendulum on Wednesday. Rather disappointed that "The Tempest" is nowhere to be seen on the setlist. Agreed, that song is still one of the best songs I've ever seen live. What have they been closing with, Encoder?
NotThePars
Anyone need a ticket for pendulum on wednesday? I can't make it anymore so will sell for face value. It's a standing ticket. I might know someone wanting a ticket, it might be tricky getting a hold of the ticket, however.

Watercolor They might switch the setlist around a bit for a new leg of the tour though.

Marshmallo
Pendulum on Wednesday. Rather disappointed that "The Tempest" is nowhere to be seen on the setlist. As long as they play "The Island" and "The Vulture" I'll be loving it.
forehead7
Looking at their setlists from previous gigs, there's a lot from the new album, obviously. Am I the only one who thought it was pish compared to the other two?

NotThePars
They played the Island in June and it's a single so it will definitely be played. Part Two might be shorter than usual, however. Rob Swire's also been tweeting recently about the tour saying that they've been preparing Comprachicos and Encoder, so they look likely to be played. A lot of people in Fife I know aren't confident of the buses running that day, they better be wrong

Am I the only one who thought it was pish compared to the other two? I thought the second album was, on the whole, dire. The last album was terrific though. The debut can be a chore at times for me. I think they hit the high points of each pretty well. "The Island Part 1" is astonishing. It really needs to be played at every Pendulum gig from now on !
Cityfan
Anyone going to 30 Seconds to Mars in Aberdeen on Friday? I can't see it going ahead unless there's a drastic change in the weather, especially when they have a show in Birmingham on Wednesday and in Manchester on Saturday. Birmingham - Manchester is a bit more ideal for them than Birmingham - Aberdeen - Manchester in these conditions, so wouldn't be surprised if it's canceled
