Me too :)

I'm going to see King Monkey on tuesday in Edinburgh. Looking forward to it, the new album's class, he plays the old classics and he's re-introduced the Roses stuff. Anybody else going?

The Soho Dolls are supporting him.

I'm seeing Brownie down in the Gorbals on Wednesday. It's always bouncin'. Last time he played at the O2 Academy (used to be Carling) a bag piper came on before and the floor went nuts.

He's been playing Roses tunes in his set since 2004.

Really looking forward to this, it will be the 3rd time I've seen him at this venue and 5th time overall.

Had tickets to see him in Glasgow, but can't make it due to christmas dance. So then I thought I know I'll got ot manchester, luckily enough i then found someone whowas selling a few for face value. Excellent, perfect but then it turns out I have work that weekend. Gutted, love the man. Been waiting ages for this tour aswell :(:(:(

Julian Casablancas at the ABC last night. A very decent performance - although I was 20 years older than anyone else at the gig. One young cnut even came out with " excuse me, grandad ".

I thought he was excellent. Ludlow St was a strange opener but River of Brakelights really kicked things off before an excellent version of album highlight Out of the Blue. As ever, his voice was excellent live although I felt it got swallowed up a little bit on occasion by the two drumkits. Strokes cover I'll Try Anything Once was a nice touch as was his Christmas song and Glass the perfect ending.

All in all, an excellent gig and am now very excited about The Strokes return next year.

Them Crooked Vultures played the Corn Exchange this evening.

An enjoyable event. Bit wild mind you.

It was MINT, it did however feel like I had been punched repeatedly on the chest.

1 hour and 40 minutes of sheer quality. Unless I get to see them again I'll never come across 3 more talented, big names all at the one time.

Alain Johannes' part on stage himself was incredible aswell.

The drums fair reverberate in the old chest cavity don't they? I think they were a bit overpowering in actual fact. I could barely discern the riff through 'Reptiles' and absolutely none of the soloing. Gunman/New Fang were my favourites from tonights set. Probably because they best resembled their recorded versions.

And aye, I enjoyed his (Johannes) little solo improv/interlude bit as well. He does own stuff from time to time. I remember being quite impressed by a jam he done with a twelve string (it's on Youtube I'm sure).

This album is, Mind Erasing. Pun intended. I'd love them to do another one but I cannot envisage that surfacing any-time soon.

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax playing at Sonisphere in poland.....

mmm tempted.

Indeed, the big four playing together at last is not to be missed, this has been talked about for 26 years.

However, I can't afford Poland. The ticket for Sonisphere Poland is free if you buy a ticket for Sonisphere UK before 31st December, but it doesn't include the travel to Poland and Somisphere UK doesn't have Metallica and Megadeth, who are the biggest two of the four, so I think I'm just going to stick with Download this year, as it has AC/DC and big rumours about Metallica and Megadeth being the top two on the bill one night. I'll keep praying the Big Four do a tour in the future and get their arses to Hampden, even though Scott Ian said that's not likely.

This May Change Your Mind!

Go on, mate. You and Mik could make a weekend break of it. You're only young once! ;)

Hmm, it is tempting, but AC/DC at Download pulls me as strongly as the Big Four do, and even that on top of a Download ticket and bus down, along with the knowledge that all my mates are going there and Metallica and Megadeth are still a possibility to play Download... I think I'll be a cautious b*****d. ;)

This is exactly the same as me.

I'm undecided if i'm going to Sonisphere or Download this year....

On one hand I go to SoniUK and get the free ticket to Poland or

Go to Download see AC/DC and hope the big 4 play a UK gig somewhere.

Download is always one of my highlights of the year, but the 'Big 4' pull of Soni is strong.

Fucking gutted Slayer are UK Exclusive to Soni :(

Went to see Ian Brown last night. Quite good but, for 25 quid, I expected a bit more. Gig started and ended very well but there was a definite lull in the middle. Only one Stone Roses tune was a disappointment though, it must be said, the tune was amazing: Fools Gold always has been a favourite! Stellify was class too.

Sergeant on december 28th in Dundee.

Where is that? I'm a fan of Sergeant, have seen them supporting other bands twice but would be good to see them on their own. Last time they were in Edinburgh it clashed with The Law...

Oh, and I'm off to Soulwaxmas on Friday night.
