IrishBhoy
A gay, disabled, Qatari, Arab migrant worker, Infantino claims to be. Good luck trying to sack him without facing a tribunal for discrimination in the workplace.
Moomintroll
The Hood, and those greedy grasping scum that came before him, have managed to completely ruin the World Cup for me. How can anyone enjoy this farce knowing the human cost & the disregard for human rights from those "hosting" it.

I don’t think we will ever truly know the scale of corruption that’s taken place in the awarding of this World Cup to Qatar. The whole deal stank from the minute it was announced, but to then go on and have such vast loss of life in the construction of the stadiums is genuinely sickening. It’s nothing other than modern day slave labour, with workers earning an absolute pittance in conditions that wouldn’t be tolerated by any right thinking society. 6500 people dead between 2011 and 2020 in Qatar, Infantino has a cheek to even show his face in front of a camera never mind trying to shame Western countries speaking out against this World Cup.
ICTChris
He actually said that he understood discrimination because he was teased for having red hair and freckles. Heads gone from the Fanta-pubed baldy.

It's been nothing but an upward tick for humanity since it was created - sorely missed! The QANON stuff was barely on Twitter. It all came from message boards, private messaging Apps and leaked over onto Facebook. Surely you realise that pre 2010s media was far more of an echo chamber?

Because if so, I’d like to introduce you the word “irony”. You're actually right in that 'woke' did have an established and accepted definition for years. Unfortunately the racists, bigots and other unpleasant right wing filth hijacked it and now use it to tearfully throw around whenever anyone 'dares' to not be a racist/bigot/homophobe/sexist/transphobe etc. But of course you know this fine well. Once again, your act is fooling absolutely no one.

Any meaning thrown out by someone which isnt "alert to social injustice, and particularly racism" is someone who doesn't understand, and who wants to paint those qualities as a bad thing. If you actually want to fully understand what is causing the division over all this you’d need to be prepared to go beyond the easy obvious “they’re all racists and bigots” answer. A simple 'no, I can't explain what it means' would have sufficed.

Genuinely not trying to trip Oaksoft up or come the c**t, I just see the word used so often now and trying to understand the specific traits that make someone or something ‘woke’.

It’s anything on an identity politics basis right wingers don’t like. See also ‘socialism’ which is anything they don’t like economics-wise. ETA - nobody actually self-describes as ‘woke’; it’s used entirely as a pejorative, almost exclusively by sneering arseholes.
