In the interview with Ian maxwell a couple of weeks ago he said they had been in talks with manufacturers and that the costs were more like less than 2500 a week and that with a bit of creativity this could be reduced further. He also said the sfa would look to help with the costs on this. He was very positive. You then get others coming out and saying it'll cost 5k a week and never be affordable. Like everything else just now theres no clear and concrete info coming out regarding this. I'd rather believe an intelligent articulate guy like O'Neil whose currently living through it than Ian Maxwell. O'Neil said the cost was "approaching 5 figures" . It cannot be done on the NHS due to the delay in test results. Tests, doctors , couriers , constant turnover of PPE, deep cleaning, dedicated COVID staff - that's all before putting on a match with no fans. He also doubted the testing machine that Celtic & Ross C have bought , I think they've been sold a pup there. Maxwell 's weird sums aside, there is no room for relaxing the testing requirements which are laid down by the Government so Maxwell's creativity will not just risk safety but simply wont be allowed.

Again its the lack of information from the ruling associations and an agreed procedure in making Covid19 testing and the associated disciplines required for all those involved. Am all for football coming back ASAP. But it has to be done safely for those involved in the match. Many clubs will have to bet their last penny on this working. That means robust risk assessments and standards that are common across the board. So players at an away game apply the same standards as the home team. It all comes back to these unscrupulous bunch of hucksters and chancers that have blagged a nice gig running Scottish football.

Can't see any club outside the Premiership , well apart from Hertz, getting it done either. It will require a great deal of infrastructure , staff and ongoing cash. I think Gary Deans '"We're ready to play" statement was premature and a bit naïve again. Sorry if this is negative. Totally agree and not just what Michael O Neil was saying but also John McLean the Scottish FA chief medical consultant. Its not just the testing or cost its the logistics that surrounds a match day from travel to and from the game, dressing rooms etc etc .TBH,think some Premiership clubs will struggle never mind the lower divisions

I know we are debt free but I have no idea where the money will come from to keep this up for any length of time, without any sort of gate income.

Although they're basically asking for money back they arent really due as the 14 games they did get were at a cost still below payg. They therefore really werent due any cash back at all.
Proudtobeabairn
Hearing rumours that the championship clubs have agreed to stick with 10 next season and start on 1 October playing a 27 game season. If that's the case then unlikely we'll be playing before 1 Jan.

AL-FFC
Rumour sort of cleared but its been reported: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5681922/championship-nine-less-start-october/ A ‘provisional agreement’ has been arranged which will reportedly see Scottish Championship games begin behind closed doors from Saturday October 17. The intention is for each club to face off three times next season, meaning a 27-game season – down from the usual 36-game campaign.
AL-FFC
So out of that the agreed deal with Maxwell and the Scottish Govt if clubs break the rules the exemption is removed so whats the punishment if a club or player does break the rule round it

So it means their wives can't go to work & for part time teams, the players can't work either.

I’m sure Donny did say that any court action against the SPFL will cause Armageddon...... All rise, court in session. What is the nature of today's hearing. Ken, likesay, the Hertz goat relegatit, but thay French cūnts nivir yer majesty. Case dismissed!

Sure the last time Partick took the SFA to court did the judge not say the rules werent exactly rules but guidelines that were open to interpretation so dependent on what the evidence of they were trying to quote it can/could be adjusted to suit the SPFL which is exactly the situation we have at the moment. In short the SFA/SPFL lawyers will make sure they are interpreted in the way that the SPFL want them to so its case closed before its even started.
