 Celtic - Rangers

The pair of them would like nothing better than to get out of Scotland, they make it plain every game they want nothing to do with or be associated with the country they play in if anything they despise it. Celtic and Rangers would happily play old firm derbies every week in their own 2 team league and contrive a range of exclusive cup finals to play in on a regular basis. Monthly Cup Final, Seasonal Cup Final, Full Moon Cup Final their scope and imagination would know no bounds and their fans would lap it up. They suck up the majority of the games money and with that buy and control the decision-making process to perpetually gorge from the games income.

If they left there would be a revitalisation of the game in Scotland and a transformation in the quality of home-grown players our leagues produce. It would be a return to the days when the smaller provincial clubs played local young players known to the community to gain experience and move on in their early 20's with 100 plus games behind them and the better for it onto higher leagues and the funds from the sale filters down the game. That's how it used to work and the list of Scotland's great players that started that way is proof aplenty. Baxter-Raith, Johnson/Hansen-Partick, Gemmell/McQueen-St Mirren,  Alloa-White, Jordon-Morton, Cooper-Clydebank ok some got picked up after a few games but it makes the point that the bigger clubs missed them.

Competition would improve and crowds would respond accordingly with always the chance of a smaller side assembling a once in a generation group of players at the one time that gel and become iconic for the club lucky enough to assemble them ( eg Falkirk) and just maybe kick them up a level permanently.

So there is nothing to fear in the Scottish game getting shot of the bigot brothers and their sectarian and political baggage they would not be missed and their loss would transform the game in Scotland for the better.

Oh! when they come crawling back have realised they are very small fish in a big european pool, get gubbed regularly and win S F**k all. It should be a collective thanks, but no thanks - your not needed nor wanted.

Yes but that’s why they want their B teams in the league. If by some miracle they left they’d just throw money at the b teams and it would just be the same. Why they should not even be in the Challenge Cup.

Now that Brown has seen sense and told St Johnstone where to go, are they now targeting McGylnn 😀

1. Brown was never offered the job  to say no to

2. McGlynn isn't a candidate for the job

Re post 2, that really depends how many folk tell yous to GTF now doesn't it....

I doubt it.

We're kind of f**ked now a list is public as folk who aren't on it, like McGlynn, won't move if they're seen as 5th/6th choice and a raft of managers have publicly rejected us.

He’s one of the bookie’s favourites

Yeah, because someone put £10 on him when McBookie opened the market.

It's been made clear the club want a young manager "on the up", rather than someone in their 60s having a swan song season before they wind down to retirement.

Lists are always made public as agents, managers and then the press want lists to get out there. The bookies too for that matter.

Is that not age discrimination?

I won’t understand why Scott Brown is “omg yes please” but McGlynn is “f**k, nooo!” despite the latter doing a better job with less resources.

Because Brown might be a top flight quality manager, as there's nothing to say hes not yet, while McGlynn probably will never be a top flight manager, because he's got about 25 years worth of evidence suggesting so.

Either way we'd be going for them based on wee good spells over anything so I'm fine to "miss out" on both, and Peter Leven for similar reasons tbh.

Brown also might be a compete numpty. Ray McKinnon had a much better run of games with us in this league (and it was a much stronger league too) than Brown has managed with Ayr and look where he is now… McGlynn at least there’s enough evidence to suggest he’s a know quantity and unlikely to be a disaster. I know they’re most likely both out the picture with St Johnstone but for fans to be so against McGlynn but so in favour of Brown seems a little… strange?

Can you please stop trying to sell McGlynn on our behalf? Ta…

I don't think the fans are, tbh, it's the club who want a younger manager.

They're trying to  promote a vision of a new prosperous era and rightly or wrongly feel they need a young manager for that.

No B teams. If they leave, they leave with no half way house with a seat at the table and good riddance.

Brown played for one of the arsecheeks which is probably why, i said before if a team is cut adrift at the bottom why would any manager flying high in a league below take on that job when the window is closed and they have to make do with what they have until January and even then they dont know if who is available will be enough to keep them up, if there is any money there and have their reputation damaged as a manager with being saddled with a side with relegation written all over them or even sacked before they get to January  for a bigger pay day till the sacking.

We and McGlynn look forward to giving you a high five on our way up next May 😉
