Rugster Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Just saw Wayne Rooney's two goals against Boro yesterday, f'kin outstanding, particularly the volley! Make sure you catch them at some point, honestly, superb!
Baggio Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 He's a wee ugly annoying scouse shite but they were f'kin superb.
k38jfb Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 As much as I hate him, his goals were crackers.
Guest Duck Fundee Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Two great goals and they always seem to be with him never seems to score any tap-ins I think that is one of the big things he misses from his game that and consistency if he added them to his game he would be the top player the English media claim he is.
Savage Henry Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 He is only 19 years old. I can't believe how good Wayne Rooney is already. I think English fans don't realise quite how good he could be. Two great goals, the second was a stunner, the first one the keeper didn't help himself, but Rooney still had to lob him from the best part of 40 yards.
Musketeer Gripweed Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 I had two drunk fannies in my car last night shouting Roooonnnneeyyy every time he got mentioned on the radio. I've still no seen the goals.
Guest Guinness_Alan Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I had two drunk fannies in my car last night shouting Roooonnnneeyyy every time he got mentioned on the radio. Did you join in?
shetlandbairn Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 He won me £75, so for once I'm pleased about Manchester United hammering a team (Middlesbrough were awful though).
Laid Back Maverick Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Did anyone understand his post-match interview though? Him and Beckham are fine examples of the English language!! Liam
Musketeer Gripweed Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Did you join in? Naw. I threatened to chuck them out at Drumochter. I have watched the goals though, excellent strikes.
Savage Henry Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Did anyone understand his post-match interview though? Him and Beckham are fine examples of the English language!!Liam To make a serious point, they are. Because they have such strong accents, they are better examples of English language than the BBC English you get on the television and radio, north and south of the border.
Laid Back Maverick Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Okay then, fine examples of proper understandable English then! BTW, Beckham's accent was voted one of the worst in the UK in a recent poll. Liam
Guest Eric Tait Spurts Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I don't think it's the accent that's the issue with Becks... it's that nasuating squeaky voice.
shetlandbairn Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I don't think it's the accent that's the issue with Becks... it's that nasuating squeaky voice. I was thinking that too... he doesn't really have an obvious accent as such .
Laid Back Maverick Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 There was a guy on my first degree that was from the same area as Beckham and had the same accent, albeit with a slightly less nasuating squeaky voice. I hadn't believed it to be accent until I heard him. (not only did the fecker talk like Beckham though, he drove a Merc CLK into uni every day and the last I heard of him, his parents had bought him a villa in France as a graduation present ) Liam
arab_joe Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 the guy's attitude is appauling. Every time the camera panned to a close up some obsenity was coming from his mouth, his favourite being "f'ckin p***k". he may not be an ideal role model but he is f'kin class and if swearing gets him up for the game then let him swear i say
