Doctor Who

Very positive the Daleks are being portrayed as actually being dangerous, the incredibly simplicity and unwavering style in which the dispatched of Missy, Clara and the Tardis was brilliant. Waiting until she ran so they could "hunt" her

Shame it'll be undone by some bullshit time spin and Clara and Missy will be saved while Skaro will be destroyed again. Just once, it would be nice if some of the characters weren't protected by the plot, as this'll be twice (or maybe three times?) now that Claras being killed off before the Doctor manages to reverse it, outwith all the "Impossible Girl" stuff

Maybe for once they'll just get on with it and Clara will die here. We know Jenna is leaving so here's hoping as would give it another edge instead of everyone lives but the baddies (and Clara's annoying boyfriend).

Sadly I doubt it tbh. The Doctor will whip out the broken screwdriver, flick it about, buzz buzz buzz, a few dalek's will fly backwards and blow up, Clara and Missy will turn up with the TARDIS and he'll blow up Skaro, with Davros and 3 daleks narrowly escaping, so they can reappear in the season finale

The episode started brilliantly I thought. The hand mines were creepily effective and the 'reveal' was done well. The plane thing was a bit sh1t and just felt like another episode idea that was shoved in there.

Obviously The Doctor will not murder a pre-teen Davros because that would intrinsically change the character. This theme has been examined several times on Who before and the outcome is always the same.

I agree with the vortex manipulators theory, the fact that the Doctor has travelled from the future sans TARDIS at the end kind of confirms this as he didn't have a vortex manipulator on during the episode so will probably get this from Missy.

Overall a solid 6.5/10 from me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this for the main although I do wish Moffat would stop trying to show off. That scene with the tank and the guitar was just fucking awful.

The episode had a few genuine scares. The handmines, Colony Sarff and the daleks were all pretty creepy. Michelle Gomez was excellent as ever.

As has been said before, it would be nice if for once some bad shit happened that wasn't fixable by some deus ex machina plot twist. But then Moffat does have the out of being able to use wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff to get out of a hole.

The fact that Missy doesn't give a shit about Clara?

Agreed, but she cares about the Doctor, (in her own way), and the Doctor cares about Clara, (plus this Master incarnation seems a bit bi-polar).

It would be cool if Missy saved Clara only to kill her later in the series - the arch enemy line wouldn't seem so throw away then.

In Classic Who, The Master was never insane, just bad/evil, I really think this mental instability in The Master/Missy is just a continuation from the Jacobi/Simm transformation, which I think has a lot to do with the very recent use by Jacobi's Master of his Chameleon Arch, which was very soon in fact just before that transformation, the result of which left a very mentally unstable Master, excellently portrayed by Simm!!!

Missy is just a continuation of that damaged persona IMO!!!
