HibeeJibee
Anyone got a link to the SFA membership criteria cos I can't see them in the SFA articles Aren't online. They're now very similar to Entry licensing, however: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/football_document_libraries.cfm?page=828

Ivo den Bieman
another day...another 24 hours of silence from the administrators. Current and ex-directors and wannabe takeover heads fighting like cats in a sack on the back pages of the tabloids is another sign of eventual liquidation though. Even that guy Kennedy from Stockport/Sale Sharks seems to have gone a bit quiet. still, any sense that this was all some kind of evil genius plan from Whyte for a new Rangers owner to pay him back someone else's money must be dead now. I get the sense that the administrators, ex-directors, Doncaster, Regan and the like are running about in circles going "AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH" in their respective offices and are so paralysed by uncertainty that they won't be doing anything for a while to come, yet. It would also be interesting to hear what's going on in other SPL boardrooms. Sensible chairmen will already be working on two separate budgets for 2012-13- one with, and one without, Rangers. Astonishingly the latter option still seems quite likely.

Johnny van Axeldongen
It wouldn't stop at all. You are very naïve if you think it will stop the problem if Rangers aren't around, these people sing songs for the sake of it. They will continue singing it when Rangers aren't around They'll just go and "support" whoever's playing Celtic. They'll be "Killie fans" one week, "St.Mirren fans" the next. I hope the other clubs keep and eye out for these vermin and chase them.

sjc
I wonder how much Whyte would get if they paid out 30p in the pound. 30p exactly by my reckoning !

pozbaird
because I'm on your side - it's a waste of bandwidth that statement. No idea why they bothered - but in saying St Mirren should be docked 10 points for releasing it, you'd think our BOD had released a statement saying that they wanted Rangers in the SPL no matter what, because we need them, we all need a strong Rangers, blah, blah. That statement is the equivalent of one of our 0-0 draws. Neither good nor bad. As I said, why they bothered is a mystery to me. Beano3d
So, just to check, it's the presence of Rangers in the league that leads Celtic fans to sing songs glorifying murdering foreign terrorists? Rangers no longer existing, will lead these bigot scumbags to say "You know what, maybe we shouldn't sing about the Oi R A?" And the (flute) band played "Believe it if you like..." Disappointing. Not enough inflammatory hate-filled rhetoric. Are you sure you're even trying to stoke up sectarianism?

Baxter Parp
Good news, Harry. Yeah, they're too busy throwing billions at Vodaphone.
Drooper
Why? As Stu and others said earlier - it doesn't say anything one way or the other. I have no idea why our BOD released this statement. It adds nothing. All they've done is release a statement that says they hope things work out for the best, and until they know the score with Rangers, they have nothing to say. Excellent. Well done... Meh. I thought it was quite amusing, to be fair (the point deduction suggestion, as opposed to the statement....). Anyway, are they dead yet?
Handsome_Devil
Latest statement: Duff & Phelps, the Administrators of Rangers Football Club, today issued the following statement. David Whitehouse, Joint Administrator, said: "We are announcing today we are accelerating the sale of Rangers Football Club. "The Club is in a perilous financial situation and that should not be under-estimated. Regrettably, we have been unable to agree cost-cutting measures with the playing staff on terms that will preserve value in the business. We understand the players' position as the scale of wage cuts required to achieve these savings without job losses were very substantial indeed. "In view of this, we are faced with a situation of making redundancies within the playing staff on such a scale that would materially erode the value of the playing squad. We are striving to strike a balance where cost-cutting measures can be implemented but do not destroy the fabric of the playing squad to the extent that it will inhibit the prospect of a sale. "However, no one should be in any doubt that in the absence of sufficient cost-cutting measures or receipt of substantial unplanned income, the Club will not be able to fulfil its fixtures throughout the remainder of the season. "As a result, we are expediting the sale process and over the next few days we will be holding discussions with prospective purchasers who have declared their interest. The Manager, Ally McCoist will play an integral part in thesediscussions. "If however it becomes apparent that the sale process cannot be accelerated there will be no choice but to implement very severe cost cutting measures at the Club." http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2638789
sergie's no1 fan
The club were obviously getting calls & emails from supporters/press asking for a stance on the matter. They wouldn't of released such a pointless statement for no reason.
Stu
So basically no one is being made redundant because they're trying to sell the club. Shocking.
Broken Algorithms
What a fucking farce. So while the company continues to leak money on a daily basis, and with board members suggesting liquidation is imminent, the administrators see fit to continue on as though things are as normal. Some needs to get in there and take charge. It shouldn't be a decision which is consensual on behalf of the players. It should be a case of 'The club is skint: you've been offered this, take it or leave it. Deadline of 5pm. If not, you're out.' I'd love it if the SFA grew a set and got rid of the current administrators and put in there own.
Drooper
No decision on future of Rangers players until Friday. Unbelievable - wait, actually is is believeable with this shower Can a private citizen raise an action at the Court of Session against incompetent adminstrators, and would spite and contempt be permissible grounds on which to raise this?
vikingTON
Mmm, we could be about to get a double helping of jelly and ice-cream though. Imagine if someone was stupid enough to buy the club now, passed through a CVA, and then the big tax case comes down on them like a ton of bricks? Duff and Phelps are in absolute cloud-cuckoo land, or are preparing the ground for something. Edited March 7, 2012 by vikingTON
welshbairn
Page 12 of this PDF confirms that 3 years of financial statements are required for a club license. http://www.scottishf...20Criteria%20(2 ).pdf Doesn't say that you have to have existed for three years, if you haven't the statements would presumably say "Not Trading" or similar..
