The Ticketus money was contingent on Whyte gaining control of the club. Had, for whatever reason, Murray changed his mind, even after Ticketus deposited that 24 million, all bets would be off - they would take their cash back from the client account and everyone would still be friends. Murray had no way of knowing the provenance of the 24 million - and didn't care. Could have came from anywhere. Rangers are still in a sticky position but as they are dirty *** b*****ds they will pull through this. c***s and the role of the SFA and SPL has got to be questioned, hopefully the 10 teams unify with an ultimatum to the SPL. Homer Thompson Posted March 9, 2012 Share Posted March 9, 2012 AS has been pointed out if Haudit & Daudit were in court in London claiming the £3.6Mill in Whyte's lawyers bank accounts belonged to Rangers this simply strengthens the Ticketus claim on future season tickets - assuming the b*****ds don't die. Not, as someone else pointed out, if they are claiming that money from Whyte as part of the funds he promised in the takeover document. I just liked the angle in this soap opera that a Ealing Comedy conman ripped off a bunch of arrogant city slickers and bankrupted the den of evil in Govan only to retire cackling over the loot in his Highland Castle. The next stage will be loads of arguments whether Whyte had any right to sell the tickets given that he didn't honour the agreements he signed up to in his purchase agreement. And Murray didn't care at the end of the day. All his driver was, was to make sure Lloyds got their cash, so they'd leave him alone. Once his company saw Wavetower had 24 million, everything was good as gold. It's Ticketus that have taken the gamble, or so it seems. Murray had little or no say at that time. Lloyds were running the show and as long as they got out with all their money repaid they quite rightly had little consideration for what happened later. If Lloyds wanted to accept Whyte's money to pay them off, then Murray would have been told to sign. And of course it was Lloyds when doing their due diligence to get the company ready for sale did the HMRC full story really emerge. By Ticketus running to lawyers now, smacks of them knowing they are too late. Make sure it is right before you sign it, and if you have to go to lawyers to get advice on the strength of your position, you are now looking for loopholes. So Ticketus see their money disappearing. I wonder if they have had the nod from the administrators they are going into liquidation once they chase off the 'interested parties'. The deal with the players smacks of creating a monster than any would be purchaser would not want to touch, with future payoffs to players/agents etc for a new owner part of the deal. Forget it! If we assume that the administrators have worked all along along to ensure liquidation, disregarding all the fluff and nonsense they talk, who comes out smiling and who crying?
