Supras
My stance is the same as it has always been at this story. Complete unbridlled amusement at Rangers dying accompanied by utterly bewilderment at the complexity of the story. I have read the last few pages and still have no idea what's going on, someone is going to write a book about this in years to come and it will explain everything. Let's hope it's Craig Whyte and let's hope he makes an absolute fortune out of it. "How I destroyed Rangers." I'd buy it. Ivo den Bieman
1. And the PSSI are similarly responsible in Indonesia... where the most popular league is run far, far away from their influence. The SPL will go it alone before it will refuse Rangers a license. 2. Based on what? Really, what are the SFA able to do that's going to make a lick of difference? The only carrot I can see is European football for Celtic, and I don't think that one voice will outweigh those of the other ten clubs. 1. an administrative detail that will be of interest to neither UEFA nor FIFA if they decide that they game is being incorrectly administered in Scotland. 2. The fact that Celtic may be banned from taking up their Euro place by UEFA, if Govan Red Hand Bears 2012 are immediately re-admitted to SPL, and a threatened suspension of the national team from WC2014 qualifiers, may just concentrate the minds a little bit.

Gaz FFC
Alasdair Lamont @BBCAlLamont CW says Stewart Regan and Campbell Ogilvie told him over dinner in November there wouldn't be a problem. Says this is reaction to publicity And who did Whyte borrow from to pay for that?

Bobby_F
The SPL share isn't tradeable. But I suspect a method will be found to make it so. If the SPL properly apply their rulebook Rangers should be removed from the league, Dunfermline stay up and Ross County go up. Sadly for our friends in fife, I don't think that will happen. Also If Stewart Regan and Campbell Ogilvie DID lunch with Craig Whyte and offer any assurances,, I hope to hear of their resignations You know, normally I hate seeing clubs escape relegation at the expense of another club for non-footballing reasons. Normally.

The only carrot I can see is European football for Celtic, and I don't think that one voice will outweigh those of the other ten clubs. 1. As far as I'm aware, any UEFA-affiliated club could sign a player for free if they are playing with a non-affiliated club. So if Celtic decide to join a rogue SPL, they can kiss goodbye to most of their playing assets. 2. There are 4 other clubs who will play in Europe next season. One of them will play in the Champions League qualifying stages. That could very easily be worth as much to them as having Rangers in next season's SPL.
Broccoli Dog
Somebody should buy some animal porn with the details and post it to the big hoose c/o Haudit and Daudit As hilarious as it is to laugh at thick ****, still think it's a touch on the mean side to repost the idiots bank details/NI no. There are some who may be more malicious than just pointing and laughing.

The Celtic point is the only compelling one. A professional pirate league is taking place in Indonesia right now and has been for well over a year. The punishment to the Indonesian FA - despite warning letters from FIFA - has been somewhere close to zero. Their (licensed) teams still play in Asian competition. Their national team competed in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers without incident, playing their last competitive game just two months ago. As long as the SPL exists they'll work to have Rangers and Celtic involved, because without that their business model has suffered a knockout blow. The SFA don't have the leverage to prevent this from happening in and of themselves. Like I say, only Celtic's objection could see a possible reversion. Either that or the SFA launch a top flight of their own and somehow work with the SPL12 to extricate themselves from their (manifold) contractual obligations towards the husk SPL.

HibeeJibee
Having read the breakdown of the independent panel's findings I must say the £50k fine for entering administration is harsh. No other clubs have been fined by SFA for doing that. The rest appears for me fairly uncontroversial. They got of hellish lightly with "censure only" for the waffly one and messing with Utd, and £100k fine for bringing the game into disrepute isn't heavy for a club their size. Yes it is fairly tough to be banned from signing anyone over 18yrs old, for 1yr, for bringing the game into disrepute, but it's not the harshest sanction which could've been applied, and they have the right of appeal if desired... Clearly it's the signing embargo which grabs the headlines. I'm expecting a vociferous appeal, though.
