Mark Connolly
So does this Bill Millar guy want to liquidate the club? No-one really knows. He is a millionaire who has come from nowhere to be hailed as a saviour by the fans and media, despite having a dodgy background. Deja vu?
Homer Thompson
So does this Bill Millar guy want to liquidate the club? Yes, and no. Or maybe! Basically, he wants to transfer the assets of the existing business into a newco. He then, apparently, will try and get the oldco creditors to agree a CVA. If he does, the oldco and newco can merge once the CVA is paid off. If not, then, yes, he will almost certainly liquidate the oldco.
Herman Hessian
how funny would it be if they increased their sanctions?! they can "keep" all the titles and trophies won during the period of fiscal naughtiness, but have to apply the prefix "tainted" to all of them in perpetuity ?

steward17
Yep the SPL and SFA will be all set to do a nice bit of moonwalking. The various tame journo's will put a positive spin on it all and gloss over the facts Sky are already reporting it as good news for rangers. This explains the delays on meetings for the Spl clubs and the SFA many a club chairman will be getting his arm stuck up his back over the next few days. At this weekends games watch the director box's for visits from SFA/SPL board members whispering inducements and veiled threats into CEO's and chairmans ears.
Homer Thompson
Aye. He will claim he wants to CVA OldCo Rainjurs but knows this is in no way possible as HMRC will never wear it in a million years. So the big L is a-coming over the hill.... Thats almost certainly true. Its not quite as simple, now, as a straightforward liquidation. The oldco will own all the shares in the newco. Once the oldco is liquidated, those shares must go somewhere, but I dont really understand where, or to who
Chuckinho
alex thomson @alextomoIbrox say this press conference is "sports reporters only". You what? I'm on my way. No bears invited then? May not be a popular decision coming...
Handsome_Devil
He may claim he wants a CVA for the oldco (and I'm sure he'll offer something) but I think the chances of it being agreed are slim. It's liquidation and starting again but done in a way which will appease the fans and given the SPL/SFA enough wriggle room to let them continue with little punishment if they wish. Can only hope the legs of everyone else aren't wobbling too much...

Have Craigy's shares been delivered? Is it not possible that CW won't hand over. Leaving new Rangers owned by Wild Bill and old insolvent Rangers (prop. MBB). . The Chuckle Bros would have to liquidate the old club as there is no money to continue trading? This whole thing is preposterous.
stonedsailor
I thought I'd repost this since today is THE DAY THE RANGERS DIED A long long time ago I can still remember how Those songs used to make my skin crawl And I knew if I had my chance That I could end ra people's dance And maybe I'd be happy with it all But February made me shiver With every paper I'd deliver Good news on the doorstep I couldn't take one more step I can't remember if I sighed When I read about the death of their pride But something touched me deep inside The day the Rangurs died So Bye, bye Fat Ally's Pie Tried to sign Cousin but the kitty was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singin' this'll be the day the scum die This'll be the day the scum die Did you write the songs of hate Before they locked Ibrox's gate Because the lodge told you so? Now do you believe in karma ho? Can BM save your mortal soul? And can you teach me how to die real slow? Well, I know that you're all bigots loads Cause I saw you marchin' through the roads In your sahses and in your shoes Man, I dig those death throw blues I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck The Rangurs are dead and I don't give a f**k But I knew we coudn't get much more luck The day the Rangurs died I started singin' Bye, bye Fat Ally's Pie Tried to sign Cousin but the kitty was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singin' this'll be the day the scum die This'll be the day the scum die Did you write the songs of hate Before they locked Ibrox's gate Because the lodge told you so? Now do you believe in karma ho? Can BM save your mortal soul? And can you teach me how to die real slow? Now, for ten years they've been paid in loans And Ally grows fat on chewin' a bone But, that's exactly why we used to moan When the scum they sang for the king and queen With faces that were never clean And in a voice that diss'ed you and me Oh and while the Queen was reading faxes The scum they came and stole her taxes The courtroom was adjourned No verdict was returned And while Duff and Phelps read a book on tax Thier under 18s were fielded on the park And we sang dirges in the dark The day the Rangurs died We were singin' Bye, bye Fat Ally's Pie Tried to sign Cousin but the kitty was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singin' this'll be the day the scum die This'll be the day the scum die Did you write the songs of hate Before they locked Ibrox's gate Because lodge tells you so? Now do you believe in karma ho? Can BM save your mortal soul? And can you teach me how to die real slow?
