Kyle
Looks like Accies' Chairman Les Gray is going to vote in favour of Rangers. Very embarrassing for the fans who are 95% against. Nobody give a shit about diddy fans, not even their own Club... I think it's more of a holding statement than a definitive yes to be fair. He wants harmony restored, which wont happen if Rangers/Sevco are allowed in the first division. Keep the faith. The vote doesn't take place tomorrow, so even if he is leaning yes, his mind can be changed.
timomouse
http://www.thefootballlife.co.uk/post/26370719528/financial-fair-play Ideas for financial fair play rules to be introduced for league reconstruction. Hope it's interesting.
thelegendthatis
Well that all depends on Sky and whoever wants to replace Clydesdale Bank. We can have a rough stab at SPL's balance sheet: SPL income we know: * £13M UK TV (was to be £16M next season) * £2M naming rights + overseas TV, subsidiary sponsor deals, pools (disappearing), SFA/UEFA/FIFA cash (declining) SPL expenditure we know * "over £17M" to clubs last season (unclear if includes next 2 figures) * £1.8M to SFL * £375k parachutes * ~£500k refs + wages, operating costs, etc. I tried to calculate the impact but it's a nightmare. If you consult SFL rules then after their running costs (wages, event costs, refs, etc.), some money is split evenly; then some more is graded; then any additional amount is graded more heavily. Threshold for this last amount is based on how much a figure from some years ago has risen on the RPI. Makes it prettymuch incalculable !! That depends on the Settlement Agreement's conditions. whoever wants to replace Clydesdale Bank With an increasingly contaminated brand as the SPL is becoming we might end up with 'Billy's Car Breakers' as the league sponsor. Better add to the calculations the income generated by SPL for running community projects. These make profit for the clubs. One SPL club cleared £500k from a youth training programme, which they got other people to deliver. How many got into jobs? Government money by the way. Government money = money from us.

ayrmad
If the stuff on B&W Army is accurate then the game is officially a bogey. Gilmour essentially stating that he's happy to vote yes to newco on the grounds that he'd never actually bothered to consider reading the terms under which the SPL's sponsors could walk away, and it turns out that the SPL (despite the OF having threatened for over a decade to move to England) negotiated no-OF release clauses in every one of its sponsorship deals. They could just post the names of all sponsors and we'll use our own release clause.

Thumper
has anyone worked out how sponsors can claim compensation if sevco arent allowed in the SPL btw ? If the stuff coming out of St Mirren tonight is accurate, the idea was that they'd get out of their contracts if the OF moved to England. Because of course that would somehow magically funnel millions in new settlement fees back up the road. It still doesn't make any fucking sense, of course. Most sponsors of Scottish football do so to get Scottish eyeballs. For enough, if Rangers are playing in the EPL then it's mostly going to be English people watching them. But that's not what's happened here, and Celtic are staying put. So it would be completely daft for sponsors to pull out. And yet Gilmour has just told an apparently appreciative audience that this is precisely what they're going to do, and thus the time has come to put aside all these silly rebel ideas and lube up while they still can.
thelegendthatis
On the deeds thing? I doubt it, on the registrars of Scotland website, there is a pending transfer application for the deeds to all Rangers property (the training ground, ibrox and related buildings) from Rangers Football Club LTD to Sevco Scotland. It's not unusual for actual deeds not to be updated online for a couple of weeks (it's a quasi-government department) The Ibrox transfer of deed application is number 12GLA16376 in case you're curious. I have emailed stuart.ogg@sportscotland.org.uk Stuart Ogg (Head of Corporate Services) asking what SportScotland is doing to safeguard the public investment already made in Murray Park to ensure the facility cannot be exploited for the financial benefit of any individual or any commercial business. FinnesTON
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/07/02/rangers-in-crisis-sfl-insider-reveals-20-clubs-could-go-the-wall-if-they-don-t-accept-newco-into-their-ranks-86908-23903342/ Got to the bit where they are now saying Sevco 5088 FC have to be competitive in the 1st Division or half the SFL clubs will go to the wall- Before I nearly threw the laptop !!!! I am fed up with this pish !!! If our game is reliant on a team so entrenched in hatred never mind their own mess. Considering Sevco 5088 haven't even played a game who even knows the potential they have , especially with the present regime not even their own fans are convinced but yet all the diddy teams are in such a poor state we need this ambiguous entity.

Subsequent discussion on B&W Army would indicate that the St Mirren shareholders present were appreciative of our chairman speaking openly and answering their questions. This is different from the original thought that the people in the room agreed with what he was saying. I'm going to tomorrow's meetings - should be interesting.
rustyarabnuts
If what gilmour is saying is right, and the chairs will about face and vote them in , then junior clubs are gonna have record attendance next season, anyone fancy taking a game at Farmuir park to see the famous Dundee North End???
ayrmad
http://www.blackandw...eting-re-newco/ If that's the best a supposedly fiscally prudent club can manage the baw's burst.
