Lyle Lanley
Motherwells budget was cut for this year before any of this shit kicked off, watch this space for more cuts and news of more "concsciousness drivel" filtering its way down to you and your ilk from your board of directors in the near future. But as you and your merry band of men have repeatedly stated , youll be more than happy because you will still have your sporting integrity intact. Alls well that ends well if you`ll pardon the pun.... Paddy Power have just opened a book on which clubs are most likely to fall in the wake of todays decision......guess where Motherwell come in the list?????? :bairn:bairn
fozzie
What are the bets that as we speak, Lawell is slamming his fist into the desk and asking his minions, Doncaster and Regan, to explain themselves?

lanky_ffc
Somebody turn out the lights when they leave................no idea of social implications,no idea of economic implications,no idea of whats just occurred today. Lots of back slapping and well dones to each other in amongst the usual low rent diatribe and social bile. "We have the power...." no you don`t. Watch this space as the dominos start to tumble....... Finance from the SKY deal first followed by the trickle of other meaningful investment that all the champions of sporting integrity rely on every year to balance the books. Please don`t run out the old argument about "we had football before we had SKY/television rights and we can have it again" The fact is that the clubs then weren`t run on such a reckless manner and the overheads relative to income were always managed responsibly. Clubs now frequently live beyond their means, Rangers/Sevco/Orcs or whatever witless title that they have today are case in point. The Scottish game at grass roots will be the first to suffer from the number of clubs that wind down their already fragile youth policies because of reductions in revenue. It`s the first place that cuts get made when times get hard. We are now officially on the road to becoming a footballing backwater.Well done everybody, let the self congratulation begin............ On the plus side with the number of "never going back" posters on here I`m sure the local high streets will all be looking forward to receiving your hard earned cash at the end of every week.... kerrrching!!!!!!!! ^^^^^^ Jim Traynor

Kyle
SPL2 wont happen. There's no time, and why would the SFL allow their clubs, who normally require two years to resign, leave and find themselves with no prospect of promotion beyond their own top division? 66% required for this to happen. It wont - it's a complete dead rubber. There's no time and the SFL clubs wont agree even in the SPL clubs do. The blazers should just get on with the game. This is our lot - Sevco will be in division 3 next season and reconstruction is very much at the top of the agenda, after we manage to get rid of Regan and Doncaster, of course. TeeMan
Disgusted if true. I'll be off to Galabank next season (but not to see Sevco, obviously.) Happy with the news but similarly gutted if this is true. Annan looking like a better option for me as well.

pozbaird
I've allowed myself my 'LOL' moment. So here's one for my fellow 14 year old internet knuckledragging bampots to ponder... Whatever Charlie Green's motivation or goal was here - it surely wasn't to see his Sevco Works XI papped into Division 3. So, what now? Will he be thinking now of how on earth to get the hell out of this ASAP? Will he genuinely be up for putting a team capable of finishing a season onto the park in Div 3? Does he really think SPL 2 will happen? Will the Blue Knights be back in to try and pick up the pieces? AyrshireTon
Sevco backtracking from SPL2 RANGERS STATEMENTAmendment to that earlier statement... The club now say: "It was mooted last week that plans for an SPL2 would swing into action in the event of today's outcome but it is not known if this will be the case. Amazing how quickly they mentioned SPL2 after the vote was announced.
WaffenThinMint
You know, for months I've been looking forward to and praying for this moment. One minute newco are gone, then they're saved, then they're down the shitter again, then Walter turns up, then he's not, then they're likely to be back in the SPL, then they're not, then they are, then they're down, in the first and then finally, finally in the third. However, instead of standing proud with all you guys, I feel disgusted with my own team and in the end the whole thing's just been a sickening experience with a massive kick in the baws at the end. I feel sick. Cheer yourself up with a large ice cream and jelly!
Florentine_Pogen
Am I missing something here? Wasn't Longmuir willing to shaft the SFL to please Raygun and Doncorleone? What's the story here? Is he not partly to blame for this mess? Just flying a kite here but I think that Longmuir found himself between a rock and a hard place and ended up backing the wrong nag (sorry for the mixed metaphors). Given his recent behaviour, I think there is a possibility he was convinced / believed Regan's sophistry that Spivco5088 would be a shoo-in for the 1st. There's also a rumour that if League reconstruction goes ahead, Longmuir was in line for CEO job, cortesy of Regan's patronage. If that's true, Longmuir should offer his resignation as well as he aligned himself with a completely discredited Regan.

the jambo-rocker
It's like the brass can't take no for an answer. Can they go down south? No. Can we offer the creditors f**k all back of their money? No. Can we admit them back into the SPL? No. Can we admit them into the first division? No. Can we instead bybass them into a shitey breakaway league? FFS Can't you take no for an answer?!!
