Pete's Frontier Posted May 31, 2015 Share Posted May 31, 2015 Most of their squad seems to be out of contract so they can presumably replace them with cheaper players and knock a dent in that £1.5m/month Yeah, but these guys still need signing on fees and agent fees as well as a wage, and they'll need to be decent because they are going to have to gel very quickly with Hibs having a strong squad and maybe St Mirren also. I can't see this working for Sevco. In fact, I guarantee you Potless Paul will be already arranging a beak crisis meeting at Hampden to beg for reconstruction now because his newco will 100% die without it. I think this is certain: they have to be in the prem to survive and sell the books to the horde. Even then survival is not assured, and King is going to have to put in at least 11m in equity dilution. No chance of that imo. The entire Sevco stock is not worth £11m just now. Watch out for reconstruction in the coming days. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
WhiteRoseKillie Posted May 31, 2015 Share Posted May 31, 2015 So I take it King has no choice but to put money now. I wonder if that is why he isn't at the game today I think that might be the first manifestation of his actual choice, now that the ST money won't fill the carpet bags... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Benjamin_Nevis Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Hibs play decent enough football, but their strikers are absolutely fucking shite. With a decent front man or two, they'd have beaten the tribute act in the play-offs. If they buy reasonable well in the close season, they will have a decent shot at the title. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Uncle Psychosis Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 ^^^ bought the hype. Flair football etc etc :lol: Yeah, its really inconceivable that if the team that finishes second in the division buys wisely in the summer they may have a decent shot at the title 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AUFC90 Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Have you seen hibs? Fucking awful. Playoff place at best. They will lose players and replace them with cheap options as the tash will be against spending. If the team that finished second is woeful then the team that finished 3rd is absolutely horrendous. Rangers will have to compete with an improved Hibs, a decent St Mirren side and a Queens team who can beat Rangers often. In short, the journey may last even longer than another year. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
topcat(The most tip top) Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Yeah, its really inconceivable that if the team that finishes second in the division buys wisely in the summer they may have a decent shot at the title I think this was all kicked off by Pete's suggestion that the next, cheaper version of Rangers, would be unable to compete with Hibs and Saint Mirren as it couldn't spend £1.5m a month next season. I don't think that it should cost that much to be better than Hibs, who like Rangers alternated between being a strong championship side and laughable mediocrity over 2014/15 Writing off Rangers for next seasons championship is as reckless as declaring them to be certainties. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~~~ Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 I'll assume the Jimmy Bell the kitman on 60k a year will have to take a wage cut now, or perhaps no more staying in hotels overnight for trips to Greenock 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
aofjays Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) I'll assume the Jimmy Bell the kitman on 60k a year will have to take a wage cut now, or perhaps no more staying in hotels overnight for trips to Greenock It's precisely that sort of biscuit tin mentality that has prevented celtic from competing with rangers in recent years. MEADOWXI Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 When is the announcement of the ST sales, cannot wait to hear the nonsense spoken to justify a price increase with them actually saying 'we're fucked'...... And who's turn is it to pose for the photos beside the big cardboard sign with the details; My money is this time it will be Watty, Fat Sally............... scoobles Posted June 1, 2015 Share Posted June 1, 2015 And so it begins ImageUploadedByPie & Bovril1433151793.507113.jpg So £40 million lost to the old firm, pubs and travel companies is terrible for Scotland? How much money will be saved in Police expenses, ferrry company stewarding, A&E costs and all the associated garbage that goes with those games. it's also very presumptuous to expect The Rangers to dislodge any of Aberdeen, ICT, St J, UTD or the Dee's so they can cram in another one-sided Celtic rout. Armageddon affected only one club and they are not a top flight club 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
