Of course they don't but they were pretty chuffed when they won the original case (or at least found to have done nothing wrong). Can't have it both ways. Oh wait, they can - 'cos they arra pee-pelllllll.

Lol HMRC win , Rangers were cheating b*****ds.

Time for Rangers fans to start denouncing this judgement after spending the last 3 years defending them.

Its still 2 judgements to 1 in favour of Rangers over HMRC.

HMRC pursued a case they could never win other than in principal and at what expense to the Tax Payers? The defendants in this case don't exist HMRC saw them liquidated by turning down the CVA

That decision resulted in many people losing any chance of some return on the money they were due and in the process HMRC have spent thousands if not millions in legal fees to pursue justification over any hope of recovery.

HMRC stood back for years and happily allowed Rangers and other clubs to use EBTs - these were shown in club accounts which HMRC had access to.

So if anything this judgement only show how incompetent HMRC really are.

All the EBT ruling amounts to is confirmation that the old club were cheating in the run-up to liquidation, while it will add an astronomical amount to sum BDO are trying to recover and never will in full. It's nice to have that legally confirmed for a bit of a GIRUY, but really we all knew it anyway. The accounts are still the most important story today.

Where does the £2.5 million come from, that's the big question. Can Park, Letham and Taylor stump up that sum? On the fact of it there's no reason to believe they can't or wouldn't, but will they be unsure about getting it back in the face of the criminal cases against Whyte, Green et al? Purely speculation here.

That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works.
