Maybe a daft question, but where was Team Cardigan when the final final final deadlines for bids to H&D were due?

Awaiting the clearance of a payment from the EBT fund ;)

And you know this for a fact?

it's common sense.

rich, reputable business men don't want to get their hands dirty so shysters like whyte and green are used as front men.

do you think it is coincidence that this group has suddenly sprung up today right after the newco is formed?

rangers have a massive tax bill to hmrc which no one in their right mind is going to pay.

so the club is sold to craig whyte who is a specialist in the art of not paying tax and goes into admin.

unfortunately whyte causes a bit of stir and pisses off pretty much everyone in the world. because of this he has to go and in steps charles green to form the newco.

not an hour after the newco is formed the real consortium come forward to buy the club and are feted as heroes rather than villains who put the club into admin, liquidation and bumped the creditors.

this consoirtium take none of the criticism, get a fair bit of praise and get a debt free club, the stadium and murray park for peanuts.

Very concise and accurate. Just have to hope enough people within the Scottish footballing establishment see this AND have the balls to do something about it.

Can someone explain the name thing?

Rangers Football Club PLC = dead rangers

The Rangers Football Club Ltd = zombie Newco?

Is that right and is it legal?

Yes it's kind of like the tradition of a father naming his first born son after himself, the name and the bloodline carry on but they are two different beings.

you can't kill history, that's silly.

it can be revised or denied but what happened happened.

It's just a figure of speech, what I really meant was old man Rangers is dead, the family history is there but none of it is directly attributed to the son Rangers the Third.

you only need to look at juve and their recent "30th" scuddetto to see it's not that simple.

Just because this is the way it happened doesn't mean it is a conspiracy.

If Walter has been able to attract funds to buy out Green because the newco is already formed is probably because it is more palatable to investors, definitely not a conspiracy proof.

With all the shit that happened during admin this must be worst planned conspiracy going.

to believe in the 'official' version of events so far you have to assume that whyte believed he could not pay all that tax yet still emerge with control of the club post admin. far fetched imo.

The record today says that sky will pull the plug if newco fc don't keep spl status.

I hope that people are VERY clear that IF newco fc are saved by other spl chairmen who are swayed only by newco fc gate money and sky tv money then football in this country has died on that day.

Can we really continue going to watch football when we have already made a statement which tells the world that no matter what you do, you'll always get to play in the spl if you have a decent sized crowd ?

Maybe fellow sky subscribers should email sky to tell them they won't get another penny from them if they ruin the integrity of our league.

Although perhaps like a honey trap, it would be best to let sky test our collective chairmens resolves.

I suspect however they will be found wanting.

as someone said earlier, if you were murdoch, owner of sky,and you wanted to break some news you would do it through your own paper ie the sun , not the recordph34r.gif

from my local paper

‘No’ vote may hit United for £1.4mDundee United could lose up to £1.4m if Rangers are kicked out of the Scottish Premier League (writes Philip Sim).It was reported today that SKY TV are considering pulling the plug on their £80 million TV deal with the SPL if the crisis-hit Ibrox club is consigned to the Third Division. The loss of the TV deal would represent a seven-figure hit for United, in addition to the gate receipts and commercial opportunities provided by the visits of the Glasgow giants. For full story, get tonight's Evening Telegraph

feck off P.Sim, and do some real work instead of relying on speculation from todays daily rankers this is just lazy journalismmad.gifmad.gif

It gets madder:

 1. BREAKING NEWS
 2. News from the Rangers media conference at Ibrox.
 3. Charles Green has issued a formal offer to Walter Smith to become chairman of The Rangers Fooball Club Board. He says if Walter wants that position he'll appoint him at 09:00 BST on Friday morning.
 4. He wants Ally McCoist to be the manager 100% although he hasn't spoken to him about it.
 5. He won't sell his shares to Walter Smith's consortuim. He only has a small share.
 6. Imran Amed (non-executive director), said that as well as the £5.5m, the cost incurred are up to about £10m. Other investors would be looking for a multiple of that if they were to sell their shares.
 7. Green described newspaper speculation about him getting rid of McCoist as "rubbish".
 8. "I don't stab people in the back I do it in the chest," he said.
 9. Green has invited Walter Smith's consortium to come with them and take the club forward.

This whole saga is going to have a 'you'll shit bricks' type twist to the end, isn't it?

I reckon Rangers will die with no league to play in, Whyte ends up jail and Green bankrupt while Gattuso walks away into the Italian sunset with £10 million briefcase, shaking hands with Stewart Milne.

You only need to look at ICT to see that it is as simple as that.

On the ICT official website the honours of Caledonian and Inverness Thistle are listed, family honours you might say but the honours of ICT are listed as a separate entity because we are neither of those teams nor both of those teams. Simple, new company new team.

JKF? JFK ya' daftie. :)

Seeing as how I was in Dallas a fortnight ago - here's two of my pics, taken at Deeley Plaza and the old Texas Schoolbook Depository building. Some place. Eerie, spooky, moving. The 6th floor museum is wonderful....

Nice photos - and yes, it's a superb museum. Almost flawless, one of the best I've been to anywhere in the world. I've lived in DFW for two years and was regularly here for a decade before that - in that time I've been around half a dozen times to the museum and I always, always take visitors there. It's no exaggeration to say I won't let them leave without seeing it :)

My favourite exhibit is the news wire paper, with the desperate, garbled pleas to clear the line so news about the President could get through to the world.

There is only one word for this:

Cynical.

By Christ, it is all so predictable, but that doesn't make it any less sickening (albeit quite amusing in some respects).

If the other SPL clubs even contemplate entertaining this pantomime horse, then they should hang their collective heads in shame.

Even if this was Walter's move all along to buy out any newco to avoid criticism and be a hero it still isn't a conspiracy.

For the plan to work all you needed was a CVA to fail and a newco to form, which was talked about for a while. People have been waiting on the BTC result since the new year, it was a certainty Rangers would eventually go into Admin even when Whyte took over (the non payment of tax is testament to that)

A group thinking ahead ( which obviously wasn't the case since Donald Park was part of the Blue Knights) still isn't a conspiracy. I don't think Craig Whyte was an agent for anyone but himself and Charles Green seems to be on the level too.

A few of the lads at work down here in sunny Brighton are Gers fans and they are actually quite contrite about the entire thing.. They would rather restart in Div 3 and work their way back up rather than have everyone else think SKY bullied everyone else into making them stay in the SPL.

We always have quite a massive load of banter at work and im generally on the receiving end and you'd reckon in this situation id be gloating, however i cant help now feeling slightly bad for them, their club is fucked and all they want is to get free of all this shit thats been plaguing them. Dont get me wrong i reckon all the b*****d bigot shithole fans can go f**k right off but there are real supporters in there that i can only feel sorry for.
