The level that was the SPL is now fantastically renamed the Premiership. UEFA participation is also dependent on league position, other than a Scottish Cup win. Gate money can also differ significantly depending on where you are after the split. Even the fight to avoid relegation is a competition in itself. It's not perfect but until either Celtic get an invite to be somewhere else or fail to qualify for CL group stages regularly - making them less attractive to the slightly better quality of player and their gates slump heavily - it's as good as it gets.
