SaltyTON
Deep Blue Sea (1999) Pretty poor film, brought up to average by great performances by LL Cool J, and the king of cool Samuel L Jackson. Just remember if you're black you can be bitten in half and still be able to walk! 5/10

Thundermonkey
The Hulk 6.5/10 The one with Edward Norton. It's alright. At least there is no Father subtext bollocks and the CGI is far superior. I reckon they should dispense with love interests in these movies as Liv Tyler is gash at best. Best bit is when Tim Roth asks the Hulk if that's all he's got, just before the Hulk volleys him into a tree. Now that Marvel have their own studio and are in complete control of their own movie adaptations I feel we are going to see loads more cross overs such as the scene with Tony Stark at the end of this movie. Little adverts for the next movie to get the fanboys frothing. It's still a bit too Frankenstein for me, I'd prefer more "Hulk Smash" action.

I'm sure I heard Nick Fury get a name check during the Hulk. Avengers, New Avengers or a mix of both?
SaltyTON
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004) A combination of being really funny and having Christine Taylor, it couldn't really fail. So it can have the highest mark I can give a comedy, as they aren't really great cinematographic works! 8/10

Colin M
Woody Allen's peak saw comedies that were great in terms of cinematography, regardless of whether you find them funny or not. Manhattan in particular is an amazing depiction of New York.
SaltyTON
Why can't they be? Should really say, I haven't seen any that are great cinematographically. Possibly the older ones would have spent more time getting everything right. I did give Blues Brothers 10/10 though, forgot about that.
renton
Eagle Eye 5/10Pretty standard action flick that got a bit boring by the end. The chick in it was pretty annoying. The support from Billy Bob and Michael Chiklis was the best thing about it. What other films end up with a crazed super computer that has gone out of control? I could only think of I, Robot but there must be others. 2001: A space oddessy, the andromeda syndrome, the matrix trilogy etc etc, pretty much a sci fi staple - as old as the martians

That would fall in to that category, surely.
Savage Henry
Didn't you just watch O Brother, Where Art Thou? That would fall in to that category, surely. I'm guessing that would have been Roger Deakins. Everything he shoots looks stunning, irrespective of genre.
SaltyTON
Didn't you just watch O Brother, Where Art Thou? That would fall in to that category, surely. I suppose it would, it was great cinematographically but not good enough to get the full marks as I spent the whole film wondering what the hell "The Odyssey" would actually be about given it was written thousands of years ago! I would have missed out telling you that at the start!! I'm guessing that would have been Roger Deakins. Everything he shoots looks stunning, irrespective of genre. Aye, it was.

DomDom
Quantum of Solace ( 2008 ) A pretty big step down from Casino Royale. The first 45 minutes or more is just wall to wall action, and at times it all becomes tedious, as a couple of times I couldn't help but think "oh, not again.". It also meant that when the slower scenes started coming along, it was near impossible to get interest. Now to the positives. The action is fantastic and better than Casino Royale by a fair distance. The climax is also absolutely thrilling. Daniel Craig just oozes cool as Bond more than he did in Casino, and that's something which I hope carries on into the next movies. I said it's a step down, but you have to remember the movie that it's a step down from. This movie does what it's supposed to do. Whether it could have been done better is anyone's guess, but it's not a bad movie, and worth a shot for any Bond fan. 6/10
The_Num
Saw IV The plot and puzzles seem to be getting more contrived and confusing as each film goes by. Still, for Hallowe'en, with a big bag of munchies and a beer it was thoroughly enjoyable stuff. What this one did do was give a back story to the Jigsaw but, by the same token, opened up a new branch of characters for what looks like becoming an annual event - V is in cinemas now and VI is in either production or post-producton. Still, musn't grumble - 7/10
Broken Algorithms
Indiana Jones and another ruined Lucas sequel the crystal skull- 2 / 10 Oh dear God. Me and the other 4 people watching it could have made a better film than that. Lines such as the triple agent were both predictable and cheesy. Honestly horrid film.

SaltyTON
The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) I can officially give this my title of "worst film I've ever seen". What a load of unmitigated shite, I thought to myself after ten minutes "Things can only get better", sadly I was wrong they got worse, much worse. When the highlight of a film is Nick Chinlund, you know that you're watching a steaming pile of shite! The director/writer wrote Waterworld and GI Jane, so shite is not unknown to him... but he also did the screenplay for The Fugitive so has at least saved some dignity in his pathetic existence. You go to hell, you go to hell Vin Diesel and you die! 1/10 I want to go lower, but I'll stick with IMDb style....
