Mr. Brightside
Taken (2008) An entire Albanian prostitution racket, versus a 56 year old man from County Antrim. Never mess with the Celts, stupid Balkan muppets! Neeson kicks a whole load of arse! Great fun, predictable as hell but just a father trying to get back his daughter at all costs. And he comes up with the coldest line ever said in a film, "I believe you. But that won't save you." - just before he walks out the room leaving the electricity running through the Albanian! Maggie Grace plays a 17 year old in this... well she's older than me so that's good going by Cindy Bright and her team (the make up people, IMDb has some useless information!)! 8/10 Legendary film! "I have a particular set of skills..." Edited January 8, 2011 by Drake

SaltyTON
Legendary film! "I have a particular set of skills..." The lines Neeson comes out with are genius! I love how he basically murders several dozen people and the police do about the square root of fuck all to stop it! And when they do he shoots the IA guy's wife!

Mr. Brightside
Who's driving the boat? Neeson is using the force obviously!

uberman
Rest Stop 4/10 A maniac terrorises a young lassie at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere, usual guff.
Mak
La Haine - 9/10 This is a great film. Watch it yesterday.
forehead7
Sherlock Holmes - second time of watching, it wasn't as good as first viewing. It was still very much in my head. Although I love Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams is hot it still didn't hold up to my first thoughts. 6/10 Zack and Miri Make A Porno - Sky Movies showing two Kevin Smith films in consecutive nights, wonder if Chasing Amy will be on tonight. It's a funny flick, big fan of Jason Mewes, Seth Rogen and Jeff Anderson, adding lots of tits into it and you've got a film. 8/10 Crazy Heart Jeff Bridges is the man. Not sure how I didn't know about this, with Maggie Gylenhaal(sp?) and Colin Farrell, and Bridges won as Oscar for it. Must admit that I was really believing it and was a bit scared when Buddy got lost. 8/10
ScottyC
Inglorious basterds 7/10 good but very over indulgent that said christoph weltz is excellent. It would have been so much better if the whole film was about the French Lassy that owned cinema. The american actors in the film are totally pointless. The whole Jews fighting back stuff was nothing but self indulgent sentimentality and violence. The bad Nazi and the German filmstar were really good and she shouldnt have been killed off having far too little time on screen.
Gall09
Triangle - 7/10 Although i'll certainly need to watch it again (just looking at IMDB throws up all sorts of theories about what exactly happens), i enjoyed this. Quite unsettling the way it's filmed, i found it genuinely creepy. Loved the ending too, just the sheer vibe of neverending helplessness.

SaltyTON
Clash of the Titans (2010) Try as I might, I can't fail this film. I was pissing myself laughing every time Solos was on the screen as I knew he would say something totally inappropriate for the situation! The best one being in the scene where they are all about to die in the fight against Medusa standing beside an archer that's she's turned into stone and just going "Doesn't really inspire confidence!" or standing beside the River Styx, and someone says that Charon only ferries the dead he takes out his sword and says "any volunteers?". It's inappropriate comedy gold! As an action based on Greek Mythology it was not great, but as a comedy definitely more than passable! 6/10

Thundermonkey
The Seven Year Itch - 2/10 Maybe of it's time but horribly dated. You Only Live Twice - 8/10 So many iconic Bond moments - theme tune/best Blofeld incarnation/some quality one-liners/amazing set/Little Nellie etc
LAGer
127 Hours 7.5/10 Good film and James Franco performs really well. Kind of ruins the suspense when you already know what happens though. The Fighter 9/10 Film about the early boxing career of Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg). He's struggling a bit and is looking for better, bigger fights, whilst being trained by local hero, ex-boxer and half brother Dickie Ecklund (Christian Bale), who in all honesty is now a bit of a f*ck up and a drug addict. Whilst it's a bit disappointing the film doesn't go through the 3 epic fights with Arturo Gatti, it's still a brilliant film. Wahlberg's good but Bale absolutely steals the show as Ecklund. It shows you a clip at the end credits of the real Ward & Ecklund, and Bale has captured him brilliantly. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Bale is terrific in it. It has an awesome soundtrack too. Some of the boxing scenes aren't very well done, but they're not really what the films about and are used mainly to move the plot forward. 8/10 Edited January 10, 2011 by Tamdunk
