Shandon Par
The manager has also been saying for some time that his squad is still short on numbers. If he has gone a couple of months with the budget for three or four players burning a hole in his pocket then that's cash built up he could spend as he sees fit. Paying a fee for Ryan was something discussed on here a few months back so it's not a total surprise.
Bring Back Paddy Flannery
He was on about 1.3k at Airdrie I'm sure, one of the main reasons they got into a bad spot. Can't see him taking a paycut to join the Pars. Wage was the biggest reason we were struggling to get the deal over, Pars obviously got more money than us with us living within our means so will be interesting to see how he performs. His goals say enough, cracking signing well done! Who told you he was on 1.3k a week at Airdrie?I think they may be pulling your pisser tbh.

Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Try about £500. Indeed. He wouldn't even have been on anywhere near 1.3k a week with Hamilton. We're talking about a guy who was released from Hamilton and failed a trial at Queen of the South. He was hardly in demand, albeit he turned out to be an inspired signing.

Good signing but surprised that you could pay even £25,000 . Did you not lose a lot of money last season Do you not bother trying to balance the books just gamble in the hope you get promotion. Think I would rather go the boring way and just spend what you can afford I'd like to know the source of your (incorrect) information. I had no idea the club openly reported what we can and can't spend, especially an updated report from the last 6 days since we played the ****. The discussion mainly being @DA Baracus (and nobody else )having a mini stroke at the suggestion of the club paying a fee for a player.
CallumPar
The Cup money should be banked surely not just spend it straight away. Dunfermline have a very good squad who play attacking football you will always get that with Alan Johnston as manager. In addition to prize money of £30k for being knocked out in the second round (notice this was already more than the transfer fee), we received around £175k of income from Ibrox gate receipts. This was not included in our budget, as we budgeted for minimal income from the league cup. In fact, the Hearts game had already ensured that we received around £10k more than we had initially budgeted to make out of the league cup.But yes, how dare we actually spend about 12.5% of the extra income we received. Scandalous indeed... Why have we not decided to post a £175k profit for the year, rather than spending a portion of that money, to be competitive?

Poet of the Macabre
Callum Smith called up to the Scotland Under 19 squad for a tournament in Serbia. Should add another zero onto his fee.

If you didn't know he was a 17 y/o who only just broke into the first team you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd signed an experienced Championship striker from the way he has fitted in to the team.

DAFC.
Our tactics for this season: Give the ball to Ryan "The Giraffe" Williamson Let him skin all their players on the right hand side Cross the ball in for Andy Ryan or Nicky Clark to strike home Simples.

TheMessiah
If we're winning on sat I'd be fully in favour of sending M'Voto on with the sole purpose of hooking sibbald and hippolyte. ETA - How #pleasing would a 2-1 win witha goal from Higgy and a last minute winner from Aird be? Poet of the Macabre
Count me as Member No 1 in the "I don't give a f**k about Myles Hippolyte" club. Just thinking of the state some folk will get themselves in on Saturday is horrific.

AJ has clearly stumbled on the old Bert Paton coaching manual. Four up front with a couple of fullbacks who get forward, an attacking midfielder and a centre half who goes up for headers. Banzai Pars. Banzai.

Shandon Par
http://dafc.co.uk/story.php?t=Diamond`s_Debut_Double_&ID=10142 A bit disappointing from Ryan. Only managed a "big club" rather than the obligatory "this is a massive club".
