die hard doonhamer
Said it earlier yet we need some freshness in central midfield, McKenna would be a very decent signing. Is Paton more of a wide player nowadays? He's been used there but lacks the pace to really be effective from there. AJ did mainly use him there when he first joined the club though. I think his best position is between the strikers and midfield.

DA Baracus
He's obviously still stunned that he's just signed for such a huge, massive, monumental club.
Poet of the Macabre
Paton looks like someone stole his sweeties. Good scoring record as well in recent years...

DAFC.
Avoid their Steak Pies if you don't want to be throwing up when you get home. I had 5 (yes, five) of them when I was up there last. Thought they were decent tbf.

dafcburty
Arbroath away will be difficult but its a tie that should attract a good crowd and I'm certainly looking forward to it! Paton is a good signing. If we can keep him fit he will do well for us. Another versatile player so gives us two or three different options. By the way the squad looks at the moment, it looks like a very attacking 4-3-3 formation although I may be wrong with that. I'd say we still need 2 x goalkeepers, a defensive midfielder, a natural / experienced goalscoring scoring striker. After that, if we have any budget left I'd like to see LB cover come in and another winger to compliment the squad but they aren't necessities just now IMO.
Shandon Par
I had 5 (yes, five) of them when I was up there last. Thought they were decent tbf. I only managed three or four! I once did six by half time at Central Park but they ran out before I could manage any more. 32" waist btw.

Pars fan
. . . TWO Aberdeen stars have been hauled over the coals by club chiefs after making offensive remarks on Facebook during the Pope's visit to Scotland. Centre-half Zander Diamond, 25, and striker Michael Paton, 21, were carpeted after a complaint which included a copy of the comments posted by the players. On Thursday, September 16, when the Pope was at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, Paton posted: "Gees a shot o at popemobile...sort out these prodies." Minutes earlier in an online exchange with Diamond, Paton said: "Wee man in glasgow runnin the show." "" style="box-sizing: border-box; width: 300px; border: 0px; vertical-align: bottom;"> Diamond responds: "Running oer prods in his popemobile." Later when someone posts the letters "ftp" in a reference to the Pope, Paton replies: "Silly you, you spelt that wrong its ftq" - a reference to the Queen. Aberdeen FC spokesman Dave McDermid last night said the threads had been removed from Facebook and confirmed the players had been dealt with. He said: "The players concerned have already been dealt with internally and the posts deleted. "As far as we're concerned, that's the end of it." The club also contacted the person who made the complaint, who said: "This all happened during the recent papal visit. "I am a Rangers fan myself but now live in Aberdeen. "The remarks are extremely offensive, especially with the history between the two clubs. "There is a lot of anger on theFollowfollow.com forum. "These guys are often seen out at various nightclubs in the city. A few guys I know are not best pleased to say the least." Diamond has never hidden his support for Celtic, but he has become a stalwart at the centre of the Dons defence. The 6ft 2in stopper was born in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, and was team captain until the arrival of former Celtic star Paul Hartley at the start of the season. Paton, from Greenock, made his Dons debut in December 2008, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle. He scored his first senior goal for the club in a 2-1 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox in May.
HoBNob
Sounds like a good routine for Sammy. Just get him a popemobile, some card board cutouts of Allan Walker, George O'Boyle etc... Edited June 29, 2015 by Grant228
