Guest TheTrainbairn
Exactly steviemac-Just typical Tartan Army nonsense in supporting anyone who is playing England-So Sad to see but not too surprising given the Tartan Army.. Adamski
No Turkish flags at Hampden, but what's wrong with wanting to see your footballing rivals fail? We do it at club level. I'd love it if England didn't qualify. I was happy when Stranraer went down to the third division. I want Carlisle in the Conference by the end of this season. R-I-V-A-L-R-Y. Whether it's clubs or countries makes no difference, it's just another team and another group of fans who you'd prefer not to win. Football would be a lot duller without it. bluetooner
Perfectly my point..... When asked why i wanted England to fail in the world cup by a southampton supporter, i said well do you want Portsmouth to fail...... He said its different...... Then thought about it and never asked me again. Its all about rivalry, and as long as its friendly then there is nothing wrong with that. Its when it gets nasty, which unfortunately happens when non football supporting England fans get to games, then it a bad thing.
Ned Nederlander
I lived in England for 10 years , I used to watch England games in the local pubs - you could feel the sheer arrogance and the amount of aggression was frightening , if England lost there would be trouble in town , if England won I would have good friends gesturing and shouting "Engerlund" in my face . I will be supporting Turkey , if England lose I will enjoy a satisfying wee drink , if England win I’ll be glad I’m 600 miles away from my “friends†.
