++Ammo - Airdrie++
Halfway through season 3 at the moment and can only echo whats been said before, its absolutely first class. I can't believe I hadn't watched it before or even seen this thread.I enjoyed the original CSI, Criminal Minds and the mentalist but this tops them all.Excellent stuff

Fullerene
Been watching this recently. A nice balance of self contained episodes within an ongoing storyline. Very enjoyable.

Although there is an ongoing storyline, each episode introduces characters who don't keep reappearing episode after episode. Watching an episode on its own is good fun. By contrast a lot of new series are just one long story such as Breaking Bad, The Man in the High Castle, Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek Picard. Rather pointless watching any episode if you haven't watch ALL the previous episodes.

Also depends on whether you enjoy the story arc. I found the PoI story arc to be really enjoyable when it got going and the stand alone episodes for the most, a little dull in comparison. But really enjoyed the series overall. The PoI episode half way through Season 3 - Devil's Share I think - is outstanding, as is Control-Alt-Delete. Won't summarise the plot in case you haven't yet seen. In terms of balance between the story arc and "monster of the week" episodes, the X-Files from Season 3 on really got the balance right. In fact their stand alone episodes became much more enjoyable than the convoluted alien invasion/Govt conspiracy "main" story.....
Fullerene
That's me finished this today! Sigh. Truly excellent. Not a single weak episode. Sorely tempted to start again.
