There's a thread running over in the Tartan Army Ramblings section, but seeing as it's hard to decipher it for the tumbleweed blowing, I think this should stay here on this occasion, at least there will be a bit of discussion in this forum. ;)

Pretty much the worst draw, along with Spain that we could have hoped for. Doubly difficult being at home first, Berti will really need to perform a miracle in this one.

Will be great to watch, although I'm fully prepared for defeat and another major tourney without the Tartan Army. :(

I forgot about the Tartan Army section, favourites link straight to here!

I think everyone knew the bigger sides were never going to draw each other so we had to hope for one of the middle of the road sides.

This is the draw we really didn't want, Holland must be rubbing their hands with glee at drawing us.

On a personal note I'm gutted the 2nd leg is away from home, I've got exams on the Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday which means I can't go to Holland!

When do we play our best? When we are the underdogs.

O.K. it's probably the worst case scenario home first to the team who desperately want/need to qualify, after missing out on WC2002. But if nothing else we will play out of our skins over the two legs, more than can be said if we got Latvia, and who knows we might still be putting the saltire towels on the sunbeds on the Algarve next year. (and no I don't mean for our hodilays)

Bring them on!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we can give them a good go at home anyways, they are in a wee bit of a mess just now. Holland should have cruised that group but Greece won it easily in the end. There is alot of infighting between them just now so hopefully we can take advantage, I think we can beat them at Hampden and it will depend on how we do in Holland.

It was the Czech Rep. that beat Holland to the automatic qualification spot, and I can see them as being an outside bet to win the cup !!

As for Holland, it will be hard, but at least we are the underdogs, most were hoping to draw Latvia, but they must have improved a bit since we last played them as they didn't come second out of luck, and if we were to loose to Latvia it would be a national crisis, but loosing to Holland is not so bad, so I think the players will have less pressure on them and be able to perform better.

I recon we will scrape two draws from the games, it will be down to who ever socres the most goals away from home I think !!

Scotland will win. We'll have Kevin Kyle back from suspension. Kyle & Miller through the middle with Fletcher & McFadden on the flanks. We'll destroy the Dutch with the long ball game. ;)

You are quite correct TJE, it was the Czechs that won Group 3.Still would have expected Holland to win that one. However, we can surely give them a good game especially at home. McFadden must start!

from another site ticket prices..........

Scotland will face Holland in the Euro 2004 play-offs next month, with the first leg at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on Saturday 15 November. The return in Holland is four days later, on Wednesday 19 November.

Full details of the matches will be confirmed shortly, but in brief the Scottish FA will give priority to the members of the Scotland Travel Club when it comes to purchasing tickets. STC members will be allowed to purchase up to two tickets each before the public sale begins, provisionally on Saturday 1 November.

Ticket prices will be £20 for East and West stands, £25 for the North Stand and £25/£30 for the BT South Stand. Family section tickets will be £15 for adults and £5 for children.

what happened to rewarding loyal fans. that was my first scotland game on saturday and at those prices i wont make that one my second.

I think the only reason they got a full house on Saturday was lowering the ticket price which I thought was a great idea. The crowd seemed to get right behind the team and we will need that against what is admittedly, much better opposition the us and Latvia put together! <_<

can anyone explain this quote from Dick? The Scotland players he had a Gers always pulled out and that was around 2 players. Has he a love child/Boyfriend still in Scotland?.....Dutch Poof

Holland coach, former Rangers manager Dick Advocaat, had already stoked the fires for a potential meeting with Scotland by declaring he wanted to meet them in the play-offs for "personal reasons."
