GrahamJags
The new single is very Roy Orbison. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm on the fence just now. I'll give it a couple more listens.

It's the first Springsteen single I've liked since Radio Nowhere. It's very much from the Nilsson school of melancholy country soundtracks.
ScottR96
I really enjoyed it. Hope the album isn't as shite as High Hopes, though. Also not sure I'd enjoy a solo tour as much - would like to see the ESB again as they're getting on a bit.
Highland Capital
High Hopes was a bit of mishmash anyway as it was more of a covers/outtakes album. I really enjoyed Wrecking Ball.
Savage Henry
Next song from the forthcoming album is called... "There goes my miracle" and is every bit as bad as the title would make you fear.

GrahamJags
I quite like it.I dig it as well. Took a couple of listens to get into the chorus though, right enough.

BillyAnchor
Heard a new song on the radio this morning, sounded like a 70s lounge singer.
JamieStevenson
Thoughts on the album? On first listen I found some of it a bit boring.

As Bruce “The future of Rock n Roll” Springsteen - it is not up there. But as Bruce in his 70th year, I think it is remarkable how he keeps reinventing himself - age will be the main reason for that. Excellent album. That said - I wonder what the new E Street stuff will be like. Edited June 15, 2019 by Klanky
ScottR96
I think it's quite good. Not a classic by any means but I doubt we'll see another one of those given his age. Hopefully he's got another E Street Band tour with 3 and a half hour shows in him. -
pozbaird
Have listened to ‘Western Stars’ a few times now. I’m a huge Springsteen fan, but I only really like half the songs on the album, the other half - have really tried to get into them, but IMHO they continue to simply pass me by at a slow pace, don’t really go anywhere, or even remotely stick in my head. The songs I do like though - they’re going into my Springsteen playlist on my iPad to add to a mighty fine body of work. Dweezboy
Really like this album, gave it plenty of listens now and the only one I’m struggling with is “Sleepy Joes Café”. It doesn’t fit into the overall album feel. Heading to NYC soon and plan a long overdue day trip to Asbury Park for a look around some of the sights referenced in his work. Anyone else been before, tips welcome!
Barney Rubble
I'm not a Springsteen fan at all. That doesn't prevent me saying that I think it's a belter of an album.
Chapelhall chap
Bought it the other day and after a few listens, it has some very good tracks but it occasionally sounds like the crooners of the 1950s, as well as quite a country tinge. The orchestrations are good but it won't please my rock band instincts for a while yet.
