Hogarth seems like a very decent pick up considering the circumstances and hopefully can fill the void of Brett

He had 12 for Thistle. But if you ask Alloa fans for their views on the two, I think you might be reassured by the response...

FifeSons
I can only assume Farrell felt the game against Clyde maybe wasn't a fair reflection on Broun (due to weather conditions), and wanted to give him another chance. I wasn't at Forfar, so not sure how he got on that day, but from the highlights, their goals were a penalty and a really nice finish. That said, given what BBPF said previously, Farrell clearly had the chance to get Hogarth earlier, but thought Broun was good enough/a better option/wanted to spend in other positions. Either that or he felt he owed it to Broun, for having promised that he would get his chance should anything happen to Long. As for what Farrell has said in interviews about the goalkeeping situation, I just don't think you can really pay any attention to that (or really anything else he says). Even if he had doubts, he couldn't voice them publicly and destroy Broun's confidence. At least he's put things right, now.
Vegetableman
decent signing is jay , good lad and the makings of a class keeper , still learning though but would have had him back at alloa as competition for PJ .
FifeSons
Also, as much as Broun looked off it, we need to start defending properly. A new CB is surely the priority now.
Grumpysonoftherock
I’d be very curious to see what involvement the goalkeeper coach (another fans favourite) has had in this. Goalkeeper is a unique position and very often the manager leans on the coach for advice. Out of the budget we’re now paying a wage to 4 goalkeepers. That’s farcical and I don’t think the keeper coach is exempt from any blame.
O'Kelly Isley III
This episode pretty much encapsulates lower league football; every team will have a mixed bag of playing personnel but within that there will be a few who can be critical to a club's success or otherwise. As long as these guys remain fit and healthy there is an enhanced chance of the former - it's no coincidence that a (very decent) Stenny team has thus far this season remained a pretty intact unit injury-wise. The b*****ds. But shit happens and when it hits the specialist goalkeeper position the problem is magnified. Brett Long has been a great signing for us and his loss was always going to be felt. I do though feel for Harry Broun who has waited patiently for his chance, but there have been issues and I credit Stevie Farrell for now acting and securing what looks to be a decent addition to the squad.

The reliable Broun now deemed not reliable by the man who just said he was reliable a few days ago. A green dot given, but this pure bit of sense deserves so much more.

FifeSons
Was odd that he'd previously been reluctant to delve into the loan market this season.
Mr November
Was really impressed with Hogarth every time I saw him last season. Not the biggest but he was one of the better keepers in League One and thought he’d get a loan at a higher level rather than dropping back down. One game in particular when Airdrie beat Alloa 4-0 was as dominant a game as I’ve ever seen and genuinely would have been 8 or 9 without Hogarth in goals.
