Sons' sorrow

I think it was when we played Raith Rovers, Chick Young was covering for open all mics and Stevo was probably the only player he knew. As soon he said he was running the show, I rolled my eyes and thought Aye right!

The 'experts' on Radio Scotland, who are covering the Raith/Falkirk game, and only know names they recognise as ex-premier players, are laying the fact that Raith have gone from 1-0 to 1-3 squarely at the fact that Raith lost Stevenson to injury.

On a similar note Chic and Derek Ferguson were discussing Qos new signings including Joe Thomson. Both agreed that they knew nothing about him and both stated they had never seen him play. Given that Ferguson has covered several of our games this season it makes you wonder how much actual attention they pay to what's going on in front of them.

Any good? Wouldn't mind some defensive cover at Alloa and judging by our previous signings I wouldn't be surprised if that's where ended up.

He can't defend against pace. Positioning can be poor at times. Going forward he is pretty good and he is quite solid in the air. Certainly wouldn't be anywhere near as good as Taggart.

Not a patch on Scott Taggart.

Anyway, whilst I don't object to him leaving on footballing grounds it does worry me that we only have about 3 subs. Hopefully it's all part of Stevie's masterplan.

All the best to Pettigrew. He tried, but he just isn't up to this level.

It didn't work out for him at the sons. Good luck to him, hope he gets himself sorted out.

Agreed, don't have any bad feeling towards the guy, we can't fault him for effort but I think dropping back down a level will suit him. I heard yesterday that he was on his way back to Stranraer. Best of luck to him.

Hopefully Stevie has his eyes on a couple of defenders for next week as with Pettigrew and Wright gone we have only four natural defenders left. I suspect that Pettigrew should have left last week but with Harvie suspended had to be kept on for one last game. With Buchanan suspended and Stanton unavailable  for the Hibs game the Sons could struggle again to field a team especially if Martin does not recover from injury. Having beaten Hibs last season there is no reason why we cannot beat them again but fresh blood as soon as possible is the top priority

Carswells clearance will be through next week, you would assume, so if we can get a centre back in we'll be fine at the back. We have Vaughan that could play Stanton's role but if Nade starts (which he always should against Hibs) then Fleming again proved yesterday that he can do a job just about anywhere on the park. The big question will be over Aldo, if he's out we'll need to sign a keeper, perhaps need to look at an emergency loan there depending on how bad Aldo's injury is.

See the club's still tweeting about the phone lines and internet being 'down.'

Maybe @lorenzo71's prediction of administration this season is gonna pan out after all.

That will not happen now that major players are on the scene with the stadium move.It has already been well discussed what might happen if the move gets the green light. But for the meantime we can just hope that we stay up.

Happy New Year by the way to all Sons fans on here....

We don't need a striker. Thommo, Nade, Fleming and Vaughan is plenty. Remains to be seen if Todd leaves too, if he stays thats another option up there. Defence and midfield is required, I get the feeling Grant Gallagher could be out for a while, he's been to a specialist twice now and no word on when he'll be back. Just hope Aldo isn't too badly hurt.
