Mackie The Staggie
Meanwhile the Oval guys where felling a bit left out, so last Sunday this happened Basically Newman and Martin Truex Jnr where battling for the last spot in the Chase (Top 12 this season compete in a private league over the last 10 races this season) and Newman was leading, Clint Bowyer, who happens to be Truex's teammate, suddenly spins out causing a cation, and in the pits Truex beat Newman out of the pits and out of the chase. The coded message just before he spun was enough to send the media over there into overdrive and some difficult questions where asked not only of Bowyer and Walltrip Racing but also of NASCAR officiating as well. In the end they did come down and handed out point deductions and fines Crazy few weeks as I said over the pond.
1888bhoy67
I'm sure Dixon stuffed the Corevette into the pit wall when he came in for a splash and tyres in the Endurance series at Laguna Seca at the weekend and just got away with it!!!
Stu
Not as if Dixon would deliberately drive into a championship rival...

Mackie The Staggie
Bit of a slap in the face for Andretti racing there, pretty sure they gave him a session in their cars
jimmy boo
Is it just me or do the Indycar standing starts seem very amatuerish...is it the drivers...is it the in car systems? The build up on ESPN is quite good but where are the start lights??
Mackie The Staggie
Completely missed the start of this race as I was watching the ALMS race, but I believe the DW12 are sluggish at best from a standing start, clutch and gearbox seems to be fragile and temperamental. No idea where the lights where. btw, Porsche's are built like the proverbial brick house and this camera man earned his wage today.
Stu
Booked a holiday in Spain for a couple of weeks time. Have just discovered by huge coincidence the town we're in hosts the Spanish round of the World Rally Championship while we're there!

Mackie The Staggie
On Arran for a few days with crap signal and forgot about second race....will try to catch highlights tomorrow....what happened? Dario caught the rear of Sato's car heavily after Sato seemed to get loose on either the bumps or some dirt of line and flew into the catch fencing, a lot of similarty to Mike Conway's crash at Indy back in 2010. Latest on twitter from a decent source states that he has 2 fractured vertebra, a broken right ankle and some concussion. They don't think he'll need surgery though on the vertebra.

flyingscot
Similar to the angle of impact that fatally injured Dan Wheldon.
jimmy boo
Similar to the angle of impact that fatally injured Dan Wheldon. Thats what I was thinking....could so easily had a similar outcome. Saw the race replay on ESPN...horrific! Was surprised how close the fans were to the fence...
